The open kitchen concept allowed me to catch a glimpse of the talented chefs skillfully preparing the dishes, further heightening my anticipation.
Now, let's talk about the food. The chicken rice at SHIOK was simply outstanding. The tender, moist chicken paired perfectly with fragrant and flavorful rice. Each bite was a harmonious blend of succulence and spice, leaving me craving for more. The accompanying chili sauce had the right amount of heat and tanginess, enhancing the overall experience. It's no wonder chicken rice is considered one of Singapore's national dishes, and SHIOK definitely lived up to its reputation.
Apart from the star dishes, SHIOK also offers a range of other Singaporean street food options.
The service at SHIOK was friendly and attentive, with the staff providing recommendations and guiding me through the menu. They were knowledgeable about the dishes and made sure I had a pleasant dining experience.

Since it was my first time trying out the place, we went with the servers recommendations.

Tried Hainese Chicken Rice which is paoched chicken served with rice, along chicken Satay LAKSA, Ngoh Hiang, CAI PO Beancurd, Mantou with KAYA & Bubble Teas.

Generous portions & my favourite was the LAKSA. Staff was helpful & courteous to guide with all & overall a good spot to try if you enjoy Singaporean cuisine.

The Chicken rice was also true-to-taste and is the best I've had in Dubai so far; steamed chicken was tender, rice was fragrant, and chilli was spot-on.
The Char kuay teow was also original and likely the most authentic dish here with the hawker centre 'wok hey' taste.
The Chicken curry however, seemed to have used fish stock intead of chicken as the flavour profile more closely resembled fish-head curry. Although it was still tasty, it certainly lacked authenticity.
The Laksa noodles was pretty tasty as well but lacked a quintessential herb(Laksa leaf), but its understandably hard to source locally.
Man tou buns were fine but could have been crispier.
The Tau suan desert was really legit and yummy.
Complementary plum drink and luo han guo drink were also great.
Pricing is reasonable and staff are friendly.
Overall this restaurant has the most authentic and appetising Singaporean food in Dubai and is certainly 'Shiok'.

So much flavor in the dishes - really unreal.
Portions are more than sufficient and packaging is great.
Don’t hesitate to try this one out if you want something non-standard.
This is not run-of-the-mill Asian food, this is definitely different.
Love how they also go with the season and change their menu to offer new things to keep their customers coming.
