Visited prior to attending a Portsmouth Football match. Good atmosphere. Did not feel threatening or unsafe. Lots of big screens showing the earlier matches. Actually ate at a different pub then came here as they don't do hot food. Would visit again.

Have been going to the Meon for many years and have seen it change hands many times over those years, but the current landlord and staff are by far the best yet! Always a warm welcome and a great atmosphere and a friendly face behind the bar. All made to feel welcome regardless which team you support on match days. I will continue to call The Meon my local for many years to come.

i love pubs like this, the bar staff are great and even in these depressing times, they make sure everyone complies with government instructions but do it in a way that puts the customer at ease. The beer is excellent, and this pub stocks Manns brown :- excellent!
