Within the first 10 minutes of our walk down the Liverpool Leeds canal, we watched 3 canal boats navigating the locks. So interesting to watch the entire process. We even participated by helping to push the gates open and close once the water in the locks had equalised.
2 of the smaller boats could fit into the locks together to save water and time. It costs £1600 to rent for a week of canal boating. An idyllic but hard working holiday ☺

Brilliant place to moor your boat, friendly guys in the CRT yard, clean amazing boaters facilities.
Beautiful views and amazing dog walks around the area, you can see all parts of nature, friendly swans that you can hand feed. Can get busy along the towpath with cyclists and pedestrians.

Lovely walk. Great scenery. Peaceful surroundings. Would thoroughly recommend it ☺️

Nice walk or bike ride. Kids like it too. Plenty to see. Lots of boats, ducks, geese and swans. Sometimes heron too. Blackberries are also coming out around this time which is another reason the kids like it ????
