Sumosan is a Japanese restaurant that's sure to tantalize your taste buds with its exceptional menu selection. If you're feeling adventurous, the Dubai roll is a must-try with its mouthwatering combination of salmon aburi, prawn tempura, asparagus, and house dukkah. For a luxurious taste experience, the thinly sliced yellowtail with truffle yuzu vinaigrette and fresh truffle shavings is an absolute must-have. With a fantastic atmosphere featuring a lively DJ and stunning views of the Burj Khalifa, Sumosan offers a dining experience that is as unforgettable as it is delicious.

We dined at Sumosan a few nights ago! Located in the Dubai Edition in downtown Dubai, this contemporary Japanese restaurant serves up some incredible sushi and sashimi and an array of innovative Japanese dishes created by Executive Chef Bubker Belkhit.

The restaurant is stylish and inviting! Their culinary offerings are excellent - We loved everything from the starters to the dessert! A must try is the sushi, the crab leg and the miso cod. ???????????? The vibe is great and the service is on point too!

Definitely recommend!

One of the best Japanese restaurants I’ve ever been to! Service and food are at top notch. Highly recommended. Note that prices are a bit high in comparison with Zuma or Clap.

Mouthwatering food and very kind staff.

I came with my friends to have some bites but we ended up having a feast.

We were welcomed by a beautiful wooden entrance with very friendly hostesses and Myke (turns out he’s the GM) but I didn’t know.

We had a couple of drinks at the bar while waiting for everyone to arrive.

I’m not a big fan of sake but their cocktails are so good, I had two sake drinks!

I had a look at their menu and there wasn’t much I could eat as a vegan, however! Big surprise, Myke was asking us for allergies or dislikes, etc. and I mention I don’t eat meat/dairy, he said don’t worry, we’ve got a whole vegan menu ???? that made my night.

This wasn’t just some random vegan dishes, it was a well thought and elaborated menu

There was sushi, salad, and an avocado pizza! (Not your traditional pizza) but still amazing.

Later, we had noodles and some insanely fried tofu (mouth-weathering while thinking about it now) again, not just some random foods from traditional menu without the meat or dairy.

Oh, I almost forget about the cocktails.

Whatever you want, you name it, they’ll make it. I enjoyed from margaritas to espresso martinis and Bellinis! I also had something with lychee but can’t remember what it was ????

Back to the food:
Broccolini with garlic ????
Shiitake sushi ????????????????????
Avocado sushi ????????????????????
The dumplings! ????????

Now it’ll be hard to go to another Japanese resto without thinking of Sumosan ????

So next time you feel like having great food, amazing views of the burj and pretty cocktails, get yourself to this new hot spot at the Edition Hotel Downtown!

Special thanks to Myke (again) for his amazing hospitality and genuine interest on making sure the guest have good food in this great atmosphere, as well as Dimitri and Dan who took care of our table the whole night like no one else ????????.

Looking forward to going back soon.

Google has only 5* but Sumosan deserves 10* ????

I’ve been to Sumosan many time but last night food was outstanding!! Service is always on top. They make a simple leafy salad taste so divine, crispy rice with salmon tartare was delicious and to conclude the dinner we had the best ice cream yogurt with honey and nuts that I’ve ever had in my life. See you soon Sumosan ????

Absolutely incredible food at sumosan, they had a great selection of vegetarian food and were superb at dealing with my allergies. The service was perfect and the staff were knowledgeable and lovely. Can't wait to go again.

We really enjoyed our dinner at Sumosan!

The restaurant had a great selection of Japanese fusion cuisines, it was hard to choose! Dimitri our waiter was exceptionally great in helping us choose some of the best dishes available all the way down to the deserts!

The tacos and nigiri are deff the best by far and a must try!

I would deff be back to try even more dishes
