This Windmill is actually quite a surprise, because rather than being out in the country it's tucked away behind the M20, other main roads and a petrol station... but you wouldn't know it when you're there.

It's over 150 years old and is run by a warm and friendly team of volunteers who have extensive knowledge of the area and Mill. They demonstrate how the millstones work together to change the coarseness of the flour, and allow children to try grinding wheat.

They told us at the time we visited that it was due a bit of maintenance, small repairs and a new coat of paint, so it could have looked a bit better but the experience was still quiet, warm and friendly.

They have a lovely selection of cakes and scones too.

Ran by volunteers, this is a wonderful place to visit with the family. A great insight into a working windmill, with the chance to buy some of the milled flour in the cafe. Very reasonably priced for the tour and the cafe is well priced too.

Visited there for a meeting of Kent Family History, which was very interesting and well organised. The facility looks very interesting for a visit when open.

Visited for a wedding, small place, windmill has turned green with age and weather so looks like it needs a good clean and some restoration.

We got married here! It was the perfect location and everything went really smoothly! Very reasonable priced too!!

Very interesting tour . Not to expensive, and they have a nice little cafe for a cuppa after. If you done like ladders /heights then you can stop at half way ....otherwise you can climb up to the top. Amazing views and insight into how flours made

A beautiful windmill and museum located on the outskirts of Ashford. They have a free car park located just a short walk across the field. Inside there's a nice cafe serving a good selection. Staff are very friendly.
