Beautiful civic buildings and square right next to the park and train station. Free art gallery and library. Great museum with little shop and cafe. Lovely historic slice of Southampton at it's best.

Rubbish system put in place. Simple repair takes about 3 different people coming out to measure it. Waiting over 6 months for one repair to be done. The council want you to pay a full month's rent to help cover towards repairs ???? Sort it out its disgusting you want your rent a month ahead but don't do the repairs!

Simply Amazing!

Due to a recent bereavement it has been necessary to have a great deal of contact with the Housing Team. They have been nothing short of compassionate, kind, patient, informative and so very helpful.
I spoke with Angie this morning and she was absolutely awesome.
I have just got back from dropping paperwork off at One Guildhall and was greeted by a member of staff, sorry I did not get his name, but thanks to him, I was in and out within 20 to 30 minutes.
Thank you for making a really traumatic time for myself and my mum that little bit easier.
There are many institutions such as the banking industry who could take a leaf out of your book.

Have been trying to ask if my direct debit has gone through since 2nd June, as it’s not been taken from my bank, but want to confirm before setting up again. have phoned everyday, to be told too busy call back. Tried email, they may reply after 20 days, today I have phoned 9 times, the business rates dept are only open for supposedly 3hours a day! Tried accounts, after 2 failed attempts of being put through to wrong dept, then told the person not available, leave a message. Absolute shambles.

The worst council I have ever come across. No liability and no care for the people. They should be ashamed.

Best thing for this council, fire them all and start over with people that actually care about the area.

Oh and I've dealt with planning, estates, trees, flood & bins team (luckly building control is done with Eastleigh BC and they have been excellent). The flood team have been good, but I feel they have been held back by another team.

The council that doesn't care about the order and cleanliness of this city. Constant passes all over the waste, turn the streets of the city into rubbish dumps. Every 2 weeks you need to “beg” to pick up the waste, and then there is no guarantee that it will be taken away. But the council tax increases every year, and the service goes down.

Can’t put 0 stars unfortunately. Not that anyone will from the council will read the review. I pay council tax for my bins to be half collected for the last 2 times. Binmen are in a rush (probably cause overworked) and empty half my bin out and move to the next house. Maybe its a game they like playing with my property or don’t like the colour of my face who knows. Please look forward to my Next council tax payment due next month. Keep up the excellent work.

The local government wants people to work but again forces people to stay off the roads!
I do deliveries and there are no parking for delivery drivers to park while on delivery so we’re forced to park on a double yellow line or sometimes half on road and half on pavement. So we end up with a parking ticket! After showing the proof that we were on a delivery at that time, they won’t cancel the ticket. This is very wrong. Delivery job is a very hard job and very stressful and on top they give us tickets. We’re not waiting or just parking there to chill. We stop at a stop for maybe 10 minutes and on the windshield we have signs saying it’s a delivery vehicle but still the traffic wardens gives a ticket. I’m asking the local government to give us a solution or do something about the ticket.
