Lovely little centre with very friendly informative host. Plenty of Nic nacs & great historical pieces & narrative. Authentic refurbishment of typical cottage furniture. Recommended. Just walk in.

My favourite place to take visitors to Southend. Very small but thats part of its charm and always a friendly welcome.

Loved it. Very interesting. Great host who knew everything about the history and smugglers at leigh on sea. Old fishing house great too.

A lovely little informative museum of an era now lost. This is a free museum open to all and shows the layout of an old fisherman's cottage where he and his family lived. The rooms are set up as they would have been with original fittings and furniture.

Take a step back in time and enjoy this little museum as you stroll through Leigh and have a pint in the local rub-a-dub and remember how difficult things were back in the day.

Very interesting place to visit, described the history and learnt a lot from the items on display. A look back at what life was in the old days when going into the house that had been full of things from the olden days. Took grandad and he loved it. Staff friendly and polite would be good for children learning about history of Leigh or any port town

Quintessentially English. 300 years of village fishing history in a restored cockles house. Beautiful heritage gem in a chocolate box working village. A must see. Knowledgeable and helpful volunteers. Apparently, people from all over world travel here to trace family history.

A very small museum but, love to see it. It is not only with big and rich houses that the history is made!!

A delightful little place, quaint fisherman's cottage and local artifacts. The little shop has some delightful gifts for sale at a very reasonable price
