We reserved a hotel room a month ago and received confirmation of our booking. We was then contacted 3 weeks later by travel republic who told us their provider (you travel) have informed them that they have had to cancel the booking due to the hotel being overbooked. On the day we got the cancellation email from travel republic we phoned their sales team who told us that the hotel was still available on the dates we wanted. If we paid £1450.00 that day we would definitely get the same hotel, by the way we got the exact booking previously for £713.00!
After countless calls to travel republic to question why this had happened, they agreed with us that this was unacceptable but unfortunately they were powerless to act and blamed our situation on their provider who they later told us was You Travel. We then contacted the hotel in Greece direct to see if they could help and their reservation said our booking was still in place.
You travel have dropped our booking because they now can get double the price they were happy to sell it to us.
Both these companies with their shoddy dealings should be avoided.

what room type has been booked ? Room type on voucher and available room types on hotels website do not match !
