Searching for excellent live music I stumbled on this place in Dubai! Real amazing African sounds with incredible musicians. Such a relaxed and friendly environment. Service of drinks was out of this world!! My go to place if someone is looking for an all round experience.

I have gone to this club for couple days and it is nice place to chill. Nice songs are played by the band. The singers in the band played 4 or 5 different languages. Friendly waitresses and amazing owner and three beautiful habesha dancers. I got a chance to join celebration and launching of cute girl HAIMI (Haimanot) single song.

Because of some health issues we booked there very spontaneously at 10am and by noon we already had our room - what was amazing help! The room itself and the bathroom was very clean. There is a nice pub that belongs with the hotel.
In the morning they serve a full english breakfast and you can always help yourself to some coffee or tea and toast or cereal.

Stayed here for 1 night on our way back from Scotland. Great location with stunning ???? views of the River Tyne, rooms are OK, breakfast was fantastic 5 ???? and the staff were friendly and accommodating to all our needs, 5 ???? to bar / breakfast staff.

Fantastic view, great ambience. There's been a change of management since I last visited, which was before Christmas, so I wish them all the best. As for all the other reviews "if you can't say anything nice, don't say naught at all!"

We stayed here due to seeing in the new year at Allendale'd Tar Barl. Yes the the hotel is dated and there's a few stains/marks. the room was very clean and warm with a comfy bed. the shower isn't a power shower but at least I was able to get a shower. Breakfast was hot and filling. all this with a very friendly and helpful Northumberland welcome. As for some reviews on here the walls were definitely not flimsy and even though there was a new year party vibe the only noise I heard was from people outside in the street going home from parties. You get what you pay for. £55 for a single room with breakfast, you want more than that go stay in a big hotel and pay through the nose

The web site advertises their great food so we were looking forward to dinner when we arrived. No, they don't serve food and stopped several weeks earlier. Obviously haven't got round to updating their web site! But no problem there are two other pubs - General Havelock and Railway Hotel - that do serve food and they are both excellent. Room was on the poor side in today's market. Light not working, and it could do with a bedside cabinet for both sides of the double bed and a chair. As other reviewers have said, hotel is tired and needs a makeover. We didn't drink at the bar as we preferred to give our custom to the other excellent pubs.
