Just went to Loch Shiel hotel to have an evening meal. Very nice food but dogs were allowed into the restaurant. Will not be going there again. We like dogs but not when we’re eating in a restaurant. We don’t want to be seeing a dog licking it’s bum etc when we’re eating. Fine in the bar but no restaurant should allow dogs ! It unhygienic and not everyone is going to be happy about eating when dogs are present in a nice restaurant. Disappointing! A big let down…

Great hotel, absolutely amazing location. The only problem was the bar manager, I think her name was Jo or similar. Her Closing the bar at 10,45. For guests and locals alike, when everyone wanted to stay and have a good night. This is the only fault I found with this place.

Had a grand time after a long day of traveling. Felt like home and locals were welcoming. Would come back here again if I ever come back to Scotland!

Loch Sheil Hotel had us for refreshments after my grans funeral yesterday and we stayed overnight. The food was incredible and rooms were fantastic. The staff really make you feel at home and no request is a bother. They even packed some left over sandwiches and fresh fruit for our long journey home. Oh, and you can't forget the breathtaking views!

There are a lot of things to recommend this hotel: location, the full Scottish breakfast, the traditional Highland Hotel experience....
We arrived a little bit late (which is completely on us) but did contact the hotel to let them know we were running behind schedule. We were told someone would be there until 11pm so not to worry but, when we arrived at 10:20pm, the person there told us they were about to lock up. I'm not sure whether they really were, or whether they were making a point, but it wasn't a good start - especially since so many reviews on here suggest that the staff are very understanding if people arrive after hours.
I really missed having drinking water in the room - there weren't bottles or glasses and not all upstairs water is drinkable anyway.
For breakfast, I would strongly recommend the full Scottish, which got excellent reviews from my companion.

Had a great dinner on a foul winter's night. Very welcoming staff and brilliant quality food. Will be back when next in the area.

We had a wonderful time at Loch Shiel Hotel, the people there were super welcoming (especially Carolyn with whom we had a lovely talk and evening). The food was local and delicious! We fell in love with the highland haggis fritters and the Loch Shiel’s classic Cullen Skink, we highly recommend it !
