Fabulous trip with John skippering. As a newbie to sailing he was patient explaining everything clearly and answering even my daftest of questions. Fantastic food and company of other guests made for the most memorable trip. To quote a fellow guest - If you are even thinking about it, don't hesitate, just do it. I most certainly will be doing so again.

John is an excellent skipper and Stravaigin is a great boat.
I did the 4 day trip from Oban; the sailing, weather, accommodation, food, other guests and atmosphere on board were all 5*. John is a great cook and everyone mucked in to make the trip enjoyable. Planning to do another sail this year.

Memorable Hebridean sailing trip
Four of us enjoyed a fantastic 10 days on Stravaigin, a very well appointed, fast and safe Elan 434 Impression. John's exceptional knowledge of the anchorages around the Outer Hebrides and Skye meant we experienced the best of what these sailing waters offer - Talisker, Harris, Canna, Eyenort, Rhum, Loch Scavaig, Scalpay, Lochmaddy etc etc - all sensational destinations. We saw white tailed sea eagles, golden eagles, minke whales, porpoises, seals and a couple of super-pods of dolphins criss-crossing the bow of the boat. John and his 1st mate Angus looked after us so well during the trip with three sumptuous meals each day plus elevenses and tea and coffee available on demand. They really could not have done any more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. John managed to grab some oysters and langoustines from a passing fisherman and also secured some fresh mackerel from another boat - seafood heaven! John is a great host - we enjoyed many card and dice games with him and Angus and we were introduced to his signature cocktail, the Dancing Pirate! We were able to sail the boat ourselves or leave it to them - and they were happy to give instruction when requested. John recommended walks (as a guide for National Geographic) and some lovely bays and inlets for wild swimming. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and will be back when time and tides allow.

All in all a fabulous holiday in possibly the best sailing destination on the planet.

We spent 10 fabulous days John and Angus, the other guests were good fun and considerate sharers. I highly recommend this company we had a fantastic time.
