Wonderful museum lots of stuff so interesting can't believe it's free
A must for anyone who is enthusiastic about war great displays information and friendly staff

A nice history of the town, well presented.
Not sure why it's called war and peace museum. Certainly has lots of military memorabilia, They use the peace symbol in their logo, But that is about all you get of peace, the rest is military
But not a bad little place to visit.

This museum is fantastic. The history of the museum and the old photo's, memorabilia, personal accounts are exceptional. It's the type of museum I could spend all day wandering around. There is some much to see and read about.There is a 15 minute dvd presentation about Oban and the surrounding district, the history of etc. It's free to visit, just hopefully leave a donation as you leave as the museum is run solely by volunteers. Well worth a visit.

The best kept secret in Oban. The amount of history and historical artifacts was astounding. It's volunteer operated, so please consider making a donation upon your visit. Street parking may be available, but it can easily be walked to if you're exploring Oban. If you've got the time, give them a visit.

So much information and brilliant displays.
You could spend hours in here.
My husband called back to take some photographs.
Very helpful staff and we enjoyed the video.

Nice layout and some really lovely memorabilia from the past. Two lovely volunteers who are knowledgeable and happy to assist. Well worth a visit when in Oban. Best of all it's free.

Entry free (donation). Lovely assistants inside who were talkative and informative. Gave our kids quiz to follow while we were reading about fascinating story of Oban people and places. At the end, kids got certificates of completion.

Awesome. Huge collection of interesting historical items each with their own story. Well put together and could spend hours there reading everything! The section on MaQuaries tower and why it was built was my favourite. Also a very interesting history video available to watch there and buy about the surrounding area. Great for everyone.
