A really beautiful spot for a nice, relaxing family day out. The flat green plains shaded by centuries old oak trees provide a nice picnic point. Try to sit closer to the river, which isn’t clean or swim friendly, but provides a soothing background noise. If you cross over the river, there’s a nice going trail that goes up challenging terrain.

The old stone church is open for public viewing and has an antique bell that rings every hour. We plan to visit again soon and book a stay for a 2-3 days instead of a day visit to truly explore this place.

An impressive house, church and grounds, lovely views from the upper tea rooms, plus a nice river walk. It's well worth a visit however, the house is not open to the public as it is currently used as a youth hostel.

A beautiful national trust location in the Peak District close to the stepping stones at Dovedale. You do need to pay for parking unless you are a member, but still scan your card at the machine. There is a wonderful tearoom and secondhand bookshop.

Stunning idyllic location. Great , spotlessly clean accommodation with fantastic facilities at affordable rates. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

Beautiful setting by the River Manifold to enjoy views of Thorpe Cloud, with refreshments from the National Trust tearoom. Walks along the river, or across the parkland. Car park is £5 for up to four hours. £7 all day. Free for NT members. Can be very busy, especially on warm summer days. There is also a book shop, toilets and a second refreshment area at busy times.

National trust property which is used as a Youth Hostel. Car park available for on site Cafe , book shop, gardens and able to walk along Dove River to Dove Dale. Suitable footwear for walking. Beautiful area.

Absolutely stunning part of the world, we got there nice and early so managed to park up no problem .
There was an Easter trail around the grounds which was very nice .
Cafe selling coffee food and ice-cream and a little gift shop .
Dovedale steeping stones are around a 2 mile walk away or you can drive but it gets very busy and limited parking

What a beautiful place. Come here if you really appreciate what's around you....the scenery is outstanding. Cafe area, toilets & a nice little second hand bookshop ????
