The City of Caves is a extremely fascinating place to visit. A little difficult to find to be honest but we'll worth the effort. Our guide Andy was very knowledgeable and humorous. I'd recommend sensible footwear when visiting and it might be a challenge if you have mobility issues. Only criticism the tour wasn't that long in my opinion but, still a great place to visit. Definitely recommend.

Absolutely fascinating, great experience, easy to download WiFi and audio tour.

I had difficulty finding the entrance.. needs a sign on the road where the footpath ends, to walk down the stairs... after the Nottingham Contemporary.

Great museum to see. You learn alot about Nottingham how everyone live in the caves when we were cavemen!
You will need to book in advance by a few days if you want to plan the city of caves and the national justice museum in the same day for the time slot you require.

Absolutely great experience for my 6 and 11yo kids who enjoyed the walk and guide! Pretty informative and amazing to see history of the caves, what they have been used for and for how long, how many are there …. well how many were discovered until now. Walk took around 45 min.

We have wanted to visit the caves for a while now and we finally did yesterday. Our guided tour led by Nino was about 45 min long and jam packed full of information and history of the amazing caves and how important they were to the city of Nottingham.
Highly recommend visiting.

One thing is it isn't the easiest place to find. Go down the steps at the side of the art gallery and to the right of the bottom stairs is the entrance.

There are also no toilets so you can pop into the art gallery cafe to use theirs before your visit.

My wife and I had the pleasure of taking the tour and the gentleman showing our group around was informative as well as very funny. All the staff were polite and helpful and I'd recommend visiting and seeing for yourself. Very interesting.

My mate and I were planning on doing a self tour, but they offered a guided tour at the time we arrived (which was priced well). The tour itself lasted approximately one hour and our tour guide was bubbly and had terrible but funny [dad] jokes while touring. Loved her personality! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was pretty neat and lots of interesting history behind the caves. Also in close proximity to the various stores and restaurants in the area.

After searching for a long time, I found that the entrance is hidden next to the bottom of the stairs!
It's so hard to find!

Basically as long as the opening hours can buy tickets
Guided tours are available every half hour
If you miss it, you won't have to wait too long

The whole itinerary will introduce the life of former nottingham residents
The nottingham people have been very fond of building caves for different purposes since ancient times
These caves have their history and function before and after World War II
It used to be a dyeing yard, a residence, and a brewery

An interesting introduction by your guide
You will have a deeper understanding of nottingham
At the same time, you can also imagine how people lived in the Middle Ages

The itinerary is very interesting! Recommended to visit!
