Booked straight in waited to be loaded once on the ferry we were off no problems whatsoever.

It's easy to get to and unless the weather is bad is efficient.
Could do with the surrounding pears either to be removed or refurbished

Our journey went without a hitch. We went to the Isle of Wight for a funeral and both crossings were punctual. We were happy with the snacks and drinks that we bought. The booking in system was so easy. The Captain is to be commended for not running down a yacht that sailed straight into the path of the ferry! The staff were friendly. A very good experience.

We arrived late due to traffic but we were helpfully accommodated on the next sailing at no extra charge. Our dogs were made most welcome in their own lounge and the drinks and food were great.
Why would we travel with anyone else?

We arrived early but was asked if we would like to go on the earlier ferry a hour before our booking. It was our first time and with our dog, from start to finish everything went well, we sat with our dog on the deck, there were a lot of steps to climb but we all managed OK. We had a great calm setting. We would use this ferry again.

Arriving at Portsmouth my son and I had a quick, efficient check in and was put on the earlier crossing, so had no waiting time. The check in staff was polite and clear in giving instructions. The man guiding us onto the ferry was hilarious and made us smile, a brilliant personality and looked as if he loved his job. The staff on board were all polite and helpful. We experience the same coming home from the Isle of Wight and I would definitely travel Red Funnel again. A superb crossing.

We travelled to the Isle of Wight on Red Funnel car ferry out of Southampton and back again.
The process was all very efficient - from booking in advance on line from Australia, to a two stage credit card payment, to arrival at the dock at Southampton and East Cowes, to departure off the ferry.
I received email advices, and they took a deposit and the balance from my credit card at different times and kept me informed.
We had a hire car so didn’t know the registration number in advance - no problem.
It was clean and functional on board, with food and drink on board to purchase and free wifi.
All in all, very well done.
