We spent a full day here and seen everything. It is a place I definitely would really highly recommend. Tickets can be pre booked online or on the day. There are many different walking trails, some more adventures than others. The play park is great for all ages and has rope bridge to explore. I would suggest bringing a bottle of water as It doesn't sell bottled water, only in cans, which wasn't good on a warm day when walking. This is a dog friendly park and gardens

This is an amazing attraction with so much to see and do. The gardens are massive with lots of different themes and many paths to get lost down and find something new. The top end is where the main garden grounds are situated, with vegetable, flower, and Italian gardens.

The stewards house is a nice cafe which serves light bites and hot drinks. The cafe at the main entrance serves bigger dishes and has a wider selection. Prices for food are very reasonable.

Further down past the main gardens is the petting farm area with pigs, goats and horses, with a nearby woodland walk that goes past the river.

The jungle garden is one of the best parts of the place as all the plants are exotic and very different from anything else in the garden. This area feels like a different world to the main gardens so there’s no part of the garden that feels repeated or boring.

Well worth the ticket price and you can easily spend hours here because there’s so much to see.

This place is incredible! I had such a great time walking around the various areas. It's hard to pick a highlight because I loved all of it, but the ancient woodland was especially interesting, it was a real treat to see what the natural forests in the area looked like hundreds if not thousands of years ago.

What they're doing here is important and I would urge anyone visiting Cornwall to spend a day exploring the grounds and enjoying nature. Not to be missed!

An amazing attraction with a bit of something for everyone, but especially if you are a gardener.
Many visitors appear to pay little attention to the more formal garden areas near the entrance, which is fine with me because these are my favourites! Flora's green is a tranquil lawn surrounded by rhododendrons which are stunning at this time of year (end of May). Just south of this is the vegetable garden which I guess isn't much to look at if you're not a gardener but I found it fascinating seeing how and what's planted. Then there's the Melon Yard with its historic greenhouses and pineapple pit. Then you enter the flower gardens which, again, few visitors were spending any amount of time in so we're equally fascinating and peaceful!
Moving on into the establishment one passes a collection of farm animals and a huge children's play area, both hugely busy with families, to get to the Jungle... The part of the garden most people have seen images of. It's an amazing place and, considering how many people were around, surprisingly peaceful.
If you really want to get away from the crowds then explore the Georgian Ride, a pathway that explores the ancient woodland in the wider estate.
Overall lots to see and do with plenty of variety so, as I said, something for everyone.

Brilliant family day out. We pre booked for a Sunday. Rained during our walk through the jungle but plenty of tree cover. Beautiful plants with stunning views. 3-6 mile walk around the entire plot depending on the route you take. Various maps dotted around. Toilets at the entrance.
Food in the cafe was lovely with super fast service! Soup of the day was delicious. Lovely farm shop with lots of produce and plants for sale.
My membership was a birthday present and we live in Torquay so might visit again.
Farm animals very friendly. Beautiful kitchen and summer gardens. Dog friendly. Some paths were rocky but manageable for able bodied.

Visiting the Lost Gardens of Heligan was an enchanting experience. This hidden gem is a true paradise tucked away in the heart of Cornwall. The gardens are meticulously restored and beautifully maintained, showcasing the epitome of nature's splendor.
They have a diversity of plant species, including exotic and rare varieties.

The attention to detail and preservation of the garden's history were commendable. The sculptures and structures scattered throughout added a touch of mystery and charm. Exploring the iconic Mud Maid and the atmospheric Jungle provided a sense of adventure.

It's a perfect destination for both nature enthusiasts and families seeking a day of exploration.

Dog friendly too!!

An amazing natural phenomenon!
Ask for your ticket to be converted to a pass that allows you to go more than once if you have the opportunity. If going for a day get there early, because it's a vast area to explore.

There's a huge jungle as close to the amazon jungle as you'll get in the UK complete with rope bridges, huge sections of ancient woodland with probably hundreds of species of trees, an animal farm, an amazing playhouse and wooden fort play area, a kitchen garden, melon house and unique pineapple growing area, beautiful peach house. Not to mention a 'lost valley' of mature plants that look like something out of Jurassic Park!

There are beautiful small pools dotted about, and many extremely impressive rhododendrons including huge tree ones. Heligans holds a national collection.

What I loved about it was not only the variety of plants, themes, ability to find areas to wander in peace and quiet (in spite of the number of small children there in half-term!) but also the link to the history of the place and the people that worked there over the last 100-150yrs. That was very moving.

The staff are very friendly and are happy to tell you what they're up to, from the gardeners to the people doing butterfly counts!
All in all, a smashing day out in an amazing location.

The gardens were recommended to us before we came on holiday. The gardens are definitely well worth a visit. They have been and continue to be transformed. The trails are very well thought out and a definite back to nature feel part6in the woodland trails. Conservation seems to be the key thought here. The more formal part of the gardens is also excellent. Well worth a visit and we'll done to all concerned.
