I cannot speak highly enough of the kindness and care and attention to detail given to me by the Staff of Beetham Hall Crematorium during my recent bereavement. The rural setting and beautifully restored old stone buildings give such a different 'feel' to this Crematorium...we are so fortunate to have such a place and its people to help us through the difficulties of loss. Thankyou Beetham Hall.

For me Beetham Hall was the perfect choice for my 20 year old son's funeral. The beauty of this crematorium is you can tailor the funeral to your beliefs. It doesn't have a chapel feel and no visible memorials ,which was something that was important my family and I , we arnt religious and didn't want the traditional funeral feel . The place is absolutely beautiful and fitted our celebration of life for my son perfectly . The surroundings are stunning and as countryside lovers there was no other choice for us .

A lovely building, in a lovely location, ideal place for my Mum's cremation, especially as she used to live at Beetham when she was much younger. Avoided the much longer and more tedious journey through to Lancaster. Service went according to plan. Lovely peaceful atmosphere inside.

We found the crematorium to be beautiful, peaceful, and we experienced a perfect service there. Before the service, we stood quietly outside and watched the sheep in the field which was somehow special. The service was seamless, and all in all perfect. Venue perfect.

Beautiful modern building in a serene setting built with local materials in keeping with the landscape.

Inside is well equipped with large screens for song lyrics or memorial photos. Tastefully decorated in a claming way. Easy to access off the main road and plenty of parking and place to mingle afterwards. The open fields surrounding the property add to the calm atmosphere of this place.

A decent location and pleasant venue unfortunately can not mask the incompetence and lack of planning demonstrated by this establishment.

Despite offering the ability to play tribute video content as a core part of a service, none of the staff know how to operate the system and have a total lack of ability to resolve issues which arise from the technology.

The media system in unnecessarily complex and the incompetent staff do not check content will play until minutes before the ceremony begins. The result being issues with their system are not identified in a timely manner. Despite the content having been supplied in the correct specification days before the event.

In my unpleasant experience this meant a chaotic ceremony and the playing of a 16 minute video without the sound. The response from the staff was to blame their supplier and claim "you have made your feelings known".

If you are hoping for a ceremony which will be run with competence and professionalism, I very much suggest you avoid this business.

Some suggestions:
1. Recruit or train staff in the operation of your media/AV system. And ensure they are present.
2. Have a contingency plan for when Plan A does not work. Given the nature of your business I would also suggest that in addition to Plan B you have Plan C, Plan D etc.
3. Check media content suitably in advance so that any issues are identified in a timely manner and can be addressed prior to the arrival of mourners. I suggest 24 hours.
4. When checking the media in advance, also confirm it works in the venue. DO NOT do this during the arrival of mourners.

We attended a service for the wonderful Jane Wilson on Friday 26th. I was completely blown away by the location. Stunning setting and a beautifully designed building. On entering I was immediately struck by the calm and tranquil feeling, stubtle decor and long windows framing that beautiful view.
Clever use of tv screens enables visuals reflecting the flavour of the service.
The deceased is centre stage with a curtained surround.
I actually said to my Mother that I would love to come here when I die.
A most uplifting experience.
