It is a green king pub, has a beer garden which can be accessed around the back if you are in a wheelchair. There are a few vegetarian options on the menu. I like the fact it has the calories noted for each meal as I need to be mindful with pre diabetes. They have a few real ales on tap. It was reasonably quiet when we went on a Monday evening so easy to get a table.

My friend and I shared 20 chicken strips. Tasted great, could've definitely had 20 to myself tho!

I didn't eat, I just popped in for a pint. I loved it, the staff were attentive, the beer was amazing. The place itself is clean, tidy, with a lovely beer garden. The menu looks nice, so I'll be definitely taking my family there as there's something for all. Great place, see you soon ????

Disappointed - sounded great, but the waitress was distracted as we were ordering drinks at the bar, and then walked away in the middle of a sentence and came back to tell us the kitchen was closed an hour and a half early, after she had poured our drinks. Pretty rude service when we now have to find some dinner elsewhere.

The Wharf Tavern is an excellent place to get a nice cold beer from, the staff are really nice and friendly too. I've left 4 stars because we only had a drink and not a meal. The food smelt and looked extremely nice, so we will definitely visit again but next time we'll have a meal (and update accordingly).

Nice pleasant establishment in Hockey Heath on the canal, food is available from the set menu as you would expect from most pubs, decent selection of liquid refreshments and snacks.
Although having recently found out that GREENE KING is now Chinese owned, it's now the end of the road for me and these establishments.

Great value on food and drink. Very pleased with the service and friendly staff. We attended with a baby and the staff were very attentive and willing to help with heating food / milk and showing us where the accessible toilets were. There’s a playground in the back so will definitely be returning with our older daughter.

Waited one hour for steak sandwich, which arrived with cheese when it was requested without. Drinks overpriced. Staff had not a clue on the way to serve or apologize. We visited the pub a few months ago and it was great. What's happened??
