As a parent of a child who has mental health issues and a health care plan. DO NOT send your child here if it is the same for you. They dont help matters and in our case have only made matters worse, it took us years to get our boy back into mainstream school for this lot to totally reverse ALL of our hard work. Complete joke of a school!

Enjoyable open evening for daughter to view the school she will be attending next year. Son already happy at the school. The school is now rated good by ofsted and is improving all the time.

Staff are always friendly and welcoming, even if contacting me for my childs negative behaviour. So far this school has offered more support in less than one year than my sons previous school which he was there for years. I've also chosen this school for my youngest to attend in september and I am confident he will thrive. I like the idea of a much smaller student intake because then smaller classes and more help for students. I agree with the uniform rules and the consequences, children need to learn discipline as well as a multitude of other skills for adult life. I also am very pleased with the wide range of subjects available also. I look forward to the next several years with my youngest sons journey and my daughter in 2 years.

Such an amazing school. It provides students with amazing opportunities. There are lots of fun trips and the teachers are so friendly, funny and supportive. If ever in need of support all u have to do is ask and they help u as best they can, always pushing u to achieve the best in life. Absolutely love it here. Offers a wide variety of subjects and has great facilities for subjects such as drama, science, hospitslity, technology and sports. ❤️

As a Year 10 student of this school, this school was okay, it was probably a 3 out of 5. But after 2019, the school hit a downfall. And I know google reviews won't do anything about it, but it's the only way to say this, without somebody at school just shrugging it off as if I was misbehaving. This school is declining. Maybe I'll give this a higher rating, if the teachers had sympathy, but for now, I'm keeping it at a 1. Disappointed.

I attended this school and a majority of the teachers where really easy to get along with. The classes where enjoyable and some teachers did take in account what other students where saying. However closing up to the end of school life the teacher helped us through and they stuck together to help us through especially head of year 11 and the science team my teacher H Standing helped me so much and if it wasn't for her I would of failed science and also English. When the exam months became closer they held assemblyes that included the school counciler as we was all told we had anxiety. It isn't a great school and it hasn't been the best experience but there is teachers at OMA that deserve so much more respect and so much more recognition . I am greatful for the teachers that did believe in my T Ramage, L Pepper, V Thortan, D Jenkins and H Standing. However throughout year 10 we had careers meetings and got told so many times that the grades you are working at are not going to get you that job. The school was all about helping so they said but they put extra exams on us that we hadn't chose and knew hardly anything about and they said it was helping however it was stressing a lot of year 11s out and they wouldn't take that into account what we was saying and how much we couldn't do it. However the school brought many memories to me with the few amazing teachers and some amazing friends that I made for life.

Nothing but problems with this school from day 1
Teacher who are only a few years older than the pupils
Rules that they enforce are bloody ridiculous nothing to do with education and when pupils are put in reflections for forgetting their ruler they do no school work at all, they are not allowed back into class until a parent can come into school to sign them out, some pupils are left in reflections for a few weeks purely because parents work and can’t get in during school times
Education is absolutely shocking my daughter was studying triple science, 6 months before exams where due to be sat they pulled a few off the kids off the course because they wasn’t achieving the higher marks the school wanted them to gain so instead off letting them achieve a grade which would be acceptable for them to get into college with, the school pulled them so the school exams results didn’t fall below on the league table. They added compulsory courses that was previously optional 8 months before exams so the pupils really struggled to juggle 2 years worth off work into 8 months especially with a teacher who was poorly train in the subject which resulted in the pupils being sent to franklin college to be taught by a proper qualified teacher on the subject
Teachers and staff do not like parents having a difference off an option than them which will result in you child being treated poorly because off this. At one point my children needed to use the councillor at school well nothing much I can say about her except she needs to retrain total waste of time.
If your child is different or tends to play up or act up be prepared for them to not be interested in helping and kicking them out the school because the child is too much effort for them, side note my child is doing amazingly once he was kicked out off that school
There is some teachers that will massively help your child and are absolutely brilliant but I’m afraid to say they are few off those left. Teacher leave half way through the year which result in subs being brought in who either have no clue what to do or bully the children. In the last year from last count 9 teachers have left if you ask me that’s saying something.
If you want to know the teachers personal life it’s definitely a place to send your kids they come with all kinds off stories
Overall I regret sending my children here, I can guarantee that your child will have more problems going to this school than any in the area, there is a reason why they are at the bottom off the league for worst schools and it can’t all be blamed on the pupils

A thoroughly disgraceful school. 1 star is too much praise for a school that has set itself very low standards and still fails to achieve them. Bullying is rife, zero respect towards teachers by a high percentage of the students and if you have a concern please do not expect a quick response to it.
The unruly children other schools expel are welcomed with open arms here and are not correctly helped when they obviously need that help.
Victimise the victim seems to be the motto here and I'm so glad that I got my child out before more damage was done.
Play computer games and watch TV as homework? Yes they set my child these tasks!
No, if you have a choice of schools to send your child to, make sure this isn't one of them.
