Lovely little narrow guage railway within the Midland Railway site. It's run by a separate group and is well worth the small ticket price for a ride along the line. The engine has the most magnificent whistle and the volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. Loved it.

Surprisingly good narrow gauge railway, nice engines and coaches which start off from Swanwick Jn over the level crossing then heading off into the countryside through picturesque woodlands to Newlands Inn terminus.

Nice little Narrow Gauge Railway that runs down into the Golden Valley from Swanwick Junction, it’s ran by a friendly group of volunteers and it’s well worth a ride. I used to take my train mad child quite often accessing via a footpath that runs by the Midland Railway line, however unfortunately this is now blocked so access is only via paying to ride the Midland Railway locomotive.

My grandson really liked it here. Loved the train journey. So much to see and do in the surrounding area. Model railway, vintage buses.Catch a vintage train to Butterley.

Just a lovely day out to relax and look at yesteryear train operations and other transport modes. Would reccomend.

Nice little railway which has a little steam engine, closed carriage and open carriage. Its only a short journey but plenty of countryside to see. Beware of ashes and smuts, as in the open carriage you get lots passing over. But it's great fun.

Excellent experience and value for money. NB. You can visit Golden Valley Light Railway and the various museums at Swanwick Junction (using Google maps) without paying the high price 'just' a few miles to travel on the main full size railway.

Great for any train lover. Staff amazing in West shed. Find the main train abit expensive for what it is and journey. Narrow gauge and miniatures are great.
