Never had a disappointing day over the many years of visiting...

Alton Towers has a variety of rides, set out across various themed 'Sections'. There's a good variety of rides whether you want speed, psycho coaster, a classic loop or something a little more subdued - so no one will be disappointed. Even kids can come and enjoy the smaller children's rides and amusements.

A lesser advertised gem is the grounds - there are some beautiful grounds and scenery to walk around, have a picnic in or just take an adrenaline break around.

Various choices of restaurants and food vendors available - all of course on the higher price range - but that what you would expect.

For less queue times, you can buy various graded fast tracks but the best way is to use your timings wisely. Mid week and during term time are always quieter times.

My Personal favourites:

Nemesis - Everything about this is a feel good classic coaster and could ride it all day.

Thirteen - whilst not particularly long or extremely, the psychocoaster element never ceases to amuse.

Smiler - Ultimate 'what day is it, what just happened' ride, you'll not know your top end from your bottom end but feel greatly refreshed for it.

Love this place. Come every year. Beautiful grounds, kept clean, plenty of space to wander or sit and have a picnic (unlike Thorpe Park). Wear comfortable shoes and if you're not great with hills use the cable cars to move from sector to sector. Rides are rarely closed (unlike Thorpe Park). You can walk through part of the old Castle, you can walk the gardens and find ponds and lakes and wildlife. Oh and the rides are ????????.

What an awesome place! First time here and it’s just amazing. One day is just not enough. Definitely get the fast track for the more popular rides and download the app to strategize the day. I liked the rollercoaster restaurant. The food was just ok but I recommend the wraps. Without a doubt a great place to go for some family fun!

Always a popular place here in the Midlands. I've bought an annual gold pass (£129) as it's only 45 miles or so round trip. So if I only go 3 times in 12 months, I've at least got my money back.
The rides are ???? great, it's queues of an hour or more for a 2 minute ride that's a problem. The only way would be to limit the people coming in but that's not going to happen ( profits)
Apart from that, a very exciting day out!

Can't recommend this theme park enough. You will not be disappointed with the variety suitable for young and old riders. Great atmosphere and should not be missed. This theme park is vast with an amazing garden in the middle,you could easily walk without being aware 8 miles in the day (I did). Wait times for a ride averaged 40 minutes. Food is the negative as it is overpriced for what it is, but positive is plenty of variety. There is plenty of parking, which is an extra charge. Buy tickets online, at least 48 hours before you visit, to take advantage of the reduced entrance fee. We will be back!

My second home as a kid, absolutely love this place, the rides, the views, the concept. It's great and so so so worth the experience.
I will take a picnic next time. I will also make use of the fast track option. I did need money to make the most of this visit but that's okay.

Absolutely cannot fault this place. There were so many great rides and attractions throughout the massive resort. We came on a weekday so the queues we really quick and we were able to try every rollercoaster.
Every ride was well themed and it was clear they put so much thought into the consumer experience. Fun interactive details made the queues feel shorter and really set the scene for a great ride!
We were also very impressed with the grounds. There was so much beautiful nature to walk through and enjoy, which made the whole day even more wholesome.
No doubt about it, we would definitely return.

Great theme park, good work from staff. It was rainy and some attractions were off. Very busy and had to pay fast track, otherwise would be a 2h+ waiting time. I think they could give the digital photos for free at less, as we are paying a huge amount of money just to go in the park and get on 3/4 machines in the whole day.
