Very handy for all day parking whilst out fishing ????, pity though that there is no option for 12 hour parking ☹️

We just came down from the Abbey (a must-do) and wanted to visit the town. It is a busy town and finding a parking spot might be difficult. It was afternoon and the town really packed. The big lot at the harbour was full.
Tried our luck here and it was full as well. Made a quick circle and came back to try our luck again. Still full, so we just waited. And it only took about 5min until a couple left.

The fee is really fair, you can stay several hours for little money. Location is perfect. The spots are bit narrow though. But there were plenty of SUVs parked - and then ours. It is manageable.

We were really happy with this carpark here. A a bit of luck required.

Decent car park and reasonably priced given it's location close to the center, pays to get there early in the busier months.

Good location but as always, a bit pricey. Also it's a bit small.

A substantial section recently railed off for private use but few cars in there - and where there was previously useful motorbike spaces now you can't get to at all but still there unused.
How about letting bikes squeeze past the barrier to access those.
I doubt they even thought about it or if they did the option to make them unavailable was considered 'best'.

SBC have a 'green' plan to remove traffic from sea front areas, so making short stay car parking as difficult and expensive as possible is just the start of it.
Buy good walking shoes you will need them

Did not like that I could not use touch to pay, downloaded app and registered, which did not show car park I was in (car park reference number did not show up) so rung number on machine to find it was automated, managed to pay with that. Feel its poor that machine upkeep was not done, simple note saying no card payment, poor. Plus the cost of parking now it ridiculous

Whitby in winter, good walks first class fish n chips what's not to love ????
