Received a call 2 hours before my booking to be told there are only high tables that are available (very annoying as high tables are not the best), was also informed the packages were no longer unlimited and are capped. Food wasn’t what I was expecting for the rosewood, poor quality, lacked flavour etc. cheese wasn’t the best, bread basket was basic. The setting is beautiful but nothing more, I wouldn’t recommend La Cava.

The atmosphere of the place as usual cozy but they put 3 uncomfortable high bar tables with the bar stools instead of normal dining tables with soft chairs. Entertainer package became limited, it's only 5 glasses of certain kind of wine from drinks menu, no butter, grapes, nuts or olives, the bread which they buy from provider is more cheaper than before. It looks like they have delivery from the supermarket. I already have not feel any exceptional experience like before. It became like capitalism turned his ugly face full of excessive interest in acquiring money on me. I love to spend money on leasure when it's worth it but it didn't satisfy me this time.

Poor hostess service. Was lied to have available seating. So I was placed at the uncomfortable high table for dinner while actual tables went untested. Then when people came in withoutreservations, they were asked where they preferred to sit. One gentleman came and clearly stated he'd never been there and didn't have reservations, and once again was asked he preferences on seating. When I asked about the "so called" reserved seats, she smiled and lied stated the seats where still not available. Even when the man and the separate couple left. This took place early evening on July 28th 2023.

Booked a table for 2, to go with a friend who came all the way from Dubai. Two hours before the restaurant calls and advises they will not be honouring their 7 ate 9 cheese and wine deal (free flow wines and would top up certain cheeses previously) and instead they have raised their price and refused to stick to the reservation I had made. We continued anyhow regardless of this inconvenience.
Seems the place is under new management as I have been numerous times (very good experiences) and I can see the quality has significantly dropped, and i think they are trying to go for the 'fine dining' experience but honestly it was subpar to what they used to provide. The cheeses were rock hard, dry and felt gritty. The wines were ok(ish).

Just a disappointing night and have rearranged plans for 2 weeks time to take other friends elsewhere.

La Cava is one of my favorite places to unwind in Abu Dhabi. Located in the Rosewood Hotel, the restaurant is situated as a wine cellar. The selection of wines is robust, the cheeses are top notch, and the bread is always fresh. If you are looking for a relaxing place to catch up with friends or to take someone special, La Cava is a must!

Regular patron in this perfect wine cave, for 500 aed for two you get real 1kg proper steak! Unlimited selection beautiful cheese, and great old and new world wine selection !

We were going for a romantic dinner but I was surprised it is a very small and tight underground place not chilled and smoking is not allowed, plus if u want to smoke there is a small lounge where u need to head over there and it's quite unrelaxing.
We stayed in the Palace for 30 seconds then we left it wasn't the place that I had in mind. Somehow got disappointed.
This is my personal opinion.

Atmosphere is pretty bland, wine overpriced even for Abu Dhabi. Service was polite but a bit stiff. In general, pretty typical for bars here, unfortunately.

Been using the P&M for many many years and still will, never go into town without having a few beers and a laugh in here, great people.

Brilliant atmosphere! Had great fun. Even the door staff were great especially the lady who helped and we had a giggle with about my daughters broken shoe! Thanks guys. Highly recommended ????

A little cramped but that is how a pub in town should be... DJ plays great tunes for us more mature drinkers... Good to see the not so old ones enjoying them to...

Gets 4 stars more for nostalgia used to spend ot of time there as a student It's full of locals, grimsby locals its either fun or it's not still love the place still a nice place for a pint

Great pub friendly staff clean.only grumble Seats at the bar would be good for single people now covid is hopefully finishing. As ain't many small tables. Good bar good lighting.

Good atmosphere, a little packed, but that is to be expected on a Saturday night... DJ knows how to get the crowd going to...
