After parking my motorcycle near the castle I got chatting with a local who recommended the steak pie, and it was amazing. Service and food was very good, reasonably priced and I’d say better than what’s in the high street.

Great atmosphere is a very authentic pub experience. Friendly staff serving food in the bar or upstairs in the restaurant.
The Volly‘s is situated close to the beautiful old harbour and has a compact outside space weather permitting.

Had gammon and chips. Absolutely brilliant. The gammon was huge. I'm a big eater and couldn't get through it. Great place, nice people, good atmosphere highly recommend.

No stars as the food was the worst I have ever had in my life. sausage and mash. No words to describe the solidified good that was passed off as mash! It was served with a MUG of tinned peas poured all over the top. All I saw was a bowl of peas in front of me. DISGUSTING!!! Hard nose manager trying to discuss my complaint over the bar with me in front of customers. Devoid of all manners Indignant that I complained, she said she 'has never had a complaint before'. ( then read all the reviews then). The startee made me feel sick and when I mentioned it, this woman replied that she likes it..( thick goo jelly poured over a started salad) Worse, this woman (said she owned the place) served a customer who had a small dog sitting on top of the tables customers eat from. Ientioned this too her and she replied she didn't see the dog. Really? As you served the food? Dogs jumping up at me as I was trying to eat and she refuted everything and finger pointed. Meal was Def the worst I have ever had and I felt sick. A mug of tinned peas poured on the meal? I could see she was giving me lip so I said to her if she continutled , I would be leaving a review. She changed her time immediately and said 'i will have a word with the chef'. Is that after you have served up around 50 of his meals??? Some manager...you have to listen to your customers!

Well worth a visit! Had a lovely meal here, the Belhaven hot smoked salmon with potato salad with mustard dressing was to die for! Followed by scampi and chips cooked to perfection. Belhaven Best and Ossian cask beer was very enjoyable too. Will definitely pop in again when we're down that way.

Excellent little pub. Budvar on tap which was a pleasant surprise. Friendly staff and locals. Little outside area for when the weather allows with views towards the harbour. Also a restaurant upstairs, but I didn't have occasion to try the food on the last trip. Would highly recommend if you are looking for somewhere welcoming to stop after a day hiking or just in town.

This is kind of the quintessential small Scottish pub. You walk in, it's immediately clear everyone inside is local, know each other, and have for years.

But they're also really friendly and make you feel at home.

We dropped in for dinner after a tour of Belhaven brewery, and couldn't be happier that we did. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was fantastic.

If you're in Dunbar, go here even if it's just for a pint.

Great wee pub. Lovely guest ales. Cosy atmosphere. Never eaten but seen plenty others doing so, so it seems popular and the food always smells great
