Can't comment on the rooms as we just had dinner here but the food was outstanding. The service was also fantastic and attentive without being over bearing. We sat in the bar as we brought our dog. We felt incredibly welcome and had a wonderful time. The food was sublime, fwe started with a taramasalata nibble we shared, then I had the ox cheek raviolo which was accompanied by the most unctuous sauce and so good. My partner raved about her pea soup. Then I had the curry which was so tender it fell apart and all the accompanying bits were perfect. Especially the bread and fluffy rice. My partner had the sea bream which was cooked to perfection. We shared a treacle tart with blue cheese and both had a coffee and left stuffed and without a single complaint or even a niggle. Well priced for the quality. Highly recommended

Hands down the best restaurant for miles and miles (and more miles). The food is wonderful! Flavours are incredible, creative and well balanced. Produce is always best quality and very fresh, cooked to perfection. We go for special occasions and have never been disappointed. Service is amazing too, extremely professional and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is relaxed and unpretentious. Personally, one of my favourite places to eat in the UK.

Stopped here for dinner enroute to Plymouth on the Devon Coast to Coast cycle route. Wow ! The chicken curry was one of the best curries I have ever had (and that is quite a lot I might add). Just beautiful depth to it, the chicken was succulent and perfectly cooked. I thoroughly recommend it. There was also a warm welcome at the pub, and I enjoyed two perfect pints of Tribute. So good, we are considering the 90 minute drive from Bristol to have it again.

Great food...well presented and really tasty! Brilliant service..all staff were friendly and efficient. Will certainly be back!

We attended for an evening meal as a large family group booking and were seated very effectively once all our party had arrived. The main menu has a large number of dishes to choose from as well as a small condensed vegan menu. The food was beautiful and all the party made positive comments about their dishes. The Cauliflower dish was incredible! Some people were keen to have a dessert however, staff effectively ignored us once our main had been served so we just got the bill and departed. Unfortunate really as there were a huge number of floor staff to have asked after clearly away our plates.

We didnt stay, however you looked after all of our wedding guests impeccably. The food the night before was brilliant (almost too good that the wedding breakfast the next day had a lot to live up too) and everyone was so helpful and kind. Thank you for being part of our special day and looking after everyone.

As it was nearly 6 pm, we managed to park close by. I chose here for my birthday dinner because of the menu and ambiance. The staff were great and our meals were just perfect. The braised ox cheek was so good I forgot all about taking any photos of it. Their chef's take on a sticky toffee pudding was to die for.

Lovely rooms and pub. Food is amazing, but a little pricey with many mains costing around £25. With a drink and dessert you would be looking over £35 which is fine for a special occasion but not every night if staying multi day
