HSBC UAE has been a severe disappointment in recent times. With my expectation of high-standard service from such a globally recognized bank, the experiences I have encountered are quite frustrating and do not align with the bank's reputed stature.

Firstly, I've experienced a multitude of card errors and unwarranted blocks. I understand the need for security measures to prevent fraudulent activity, but there have been numerous instances where my card has been blocked for no clear or reasonable cause. This results in great inconvenience, especially during times of urgency.

Not only does the card frequently face issues, but the payment system seems equally flawed. On multiple occasions, my transactions were unnecessarily delayed, affecting my financial planning and management. Moreover, the processes to resolve such problems are convoluted and time-consuming, rather than being straightforward and user-friendly.

But perhaps the most discouraging aspect of HSBC UAE's service is their customer service. Instead of being helpful and understanding, I've found their representatives to be inadequately trained, often lacking correct information, and slow to respond. It's perplexing to be kept waiting for prolonged periods only to receive unsatisfactory solutions to issues that shouldn't have existed in the first place.

Moreover, there is a distinct lack of transparency and communication in their interactions with customers. I've had difficulty receiving clear explanations for the issues at hand, which creates an environment of confusion and uncertainty. As a customer, being kept in the dark regarding my own financial issues is not acceptable.

It's disheartening to see HSBC UAE fall short in so many key areas. For a bank that holds such a significant presence worldwide, the level of service delivered here has been below par. I sincerely hope HSBC UAE addresses these problems swiftly to improve its customer experience. In its current state, I find it challenging to recommend their services.

Remember, banking should be a reliable facilitator of your life, not an additional source of stress. Consider this review before making your decision.

Average waiting time 25 minutes. That’s a problem if you have 3 people visiting the bank.. No customer service and the guy is just doing nothing behind the desk. I wonder why HSBC does not address it? Not to mention that the stuff was rude to me. When I asked after 30 min waiting time, when the guy was on the phone, he said to take a seat as he is on the phone and busy. That’s beyond belief what this bank allows to their customers

Not impressed! Staff doesn't clearly know their own products and rules. Went to this branch in order to open an Advance account being on the Work Remote visa scheme. Was told by a staff member that this is not an issue (He double checked with his colleague), I'd just have to bring the last three bank statements of my foreign bank in English as well as a copy of the company registration abroad together with my passport and Emirates ID. Went back the next day with all documents on hand and another staff member told me it's only possible to open an account if I have salary in the UAE or a trade license, so he didn't want to open the account for me. He also said I'd need to have a minimum salary of AED 15,000 per month and that's the only way. The website clearly states that either that OR a minimum average account balance of AED 100,000 is sufficient. He said he will check with his colleague and get back to me, noting down my mobile number and email address - Haven't heard back from them since.

I actually went to the Mall of the Emirates branch and tried my luck there. Staff there had no issue in opening an Advance account and a few days later I received the final confirmation, so the documents requested from the first staff member at Dubai Mall branch were sufficient and good enough for KYC clearance.

Bad Service. The I am activating my debit while I am in the food court the call center told me I cant activate it and SHE wants me to go to branch because she said somebody is teaching me. Of course there's a lot of people here talking. Very bad service especially the call center

Worst bank ever! This IS the bank to go to if you want to be treated with disrespect as if you owe them your life. Having banked with over two dozen banks across the world, HSBC is the worst of the worst even in third world standards. Been with HSBC for 25 years and left without a second thought, for those who are still with HSBC, good luck!

I came to open an account and the guy makes me feel unwelcomed and never smiles like he just wanted me get out, Poor Customer Service !
