I parked my car at Whistlefield Car Park Viewpoint in Garelochhead and it was a most enjoyable experience.
The car park is a good size and there is plenty of room to park your car.
From the car park you get a nice view of Gare Loch and the surrounding hills.
I used the car park as my starting point for walks down the road towards Coulport.
I would recommend this walk.
It takes you to a viewing point which gives you the most fantastic view over Gare Loch.
It is a breath taking view of Gare Loch and the surrounding area.
It is worth doing the walk from Whistlefield Car Park Viewpoint down the road towards Coulport just for the view of Gare Loch that you will get.
A small word of caution though.
The road from Whistlefield Car Park Viewpoint towards Coulport does not have a pavement so you have to walk on the road itself.
Fortunately the road does not have a lot of traffic using it.
I would recommend walking towards the on coming traffic and wear high visibility clothing so that you can be seen easily.
When you do encounter on coming traffic just step off the road into the verge and let the traffic past you.
I would recommend a visit to the Whistlefield Car Park Viewpoint in Garelochhead in Scotland.

Good viewpoint above Faslane to see nuclear sub base and view surrounding hills used for military training also great countryside to view on clear day
