Medlock Villas

We booked and paid upfront for Medlock Villa’s Executive Villa in The Springs in September 2021 having viewed it and considered it to be ideal for my parents and their friends travelling from the UK to visit family and grandchildren in Dubai in October. Upon check-in day we discovered that the villa was already occupied by a tenant who had moved in 3 weeks earlier and signed a years lease for the villa through another company! This meant the executive villa was no longer part of their portfolio as advertised.

This was totally unacceptable, we were given no prior notice of this despite contacting the owner of Medlock villas and arranging our check-in time with him. He claimed he had no knowledge of what had happened. We then spent a whole day trying to phone him to sort it out and he ignored every single one of our calls, only answering with an occasional WhatsApp.

We were eventually offered Medlock’s ‘Premium villa’ which we had previously viewed and rejected in as it was not up to the standard we wanted. My family were left with nowhere to go and had no option but to take the villa as it was too late to book anywhere else. We had paid a substantial amount for the Executive Villa and although we were offered a discount after a long and hard negotiation with the owner it did not compensate for the the time we spent trying to sort out our accommodation and the experience we spent staying in the Premium Villa!

The Premium Villa is described on their website as the “best villa so far, offering everything premium but the price!” Sadly, nothing could be further from the truth. It states the villa is located beside a beautiful lake when it is actually on a street surrounded by other villas with no lake view. It is meant to provide for 8 people to eat and dine. The ‘well equipped kitchen’ consisted of no cooking utensils apart from a wooden spoon, 2 small sieves and a large soup spoon. There was no way we could attempt to cook a meal. There were no wine glasses, tea towels, fruit bowls, in fact had it not been for family rallying round and bringing over utensils etc it would have been impossible to entertain. There were no bin bags provided and the dish washer gave off intermittent shocks when the interior metal plates were touched. The internet was terrible, no one could log on and if they did it was for a brief spell. We were told it would be fixed but that did not happen. My parents and friends ended up buying data!

The outside of the villa was equally disappointing. The website claims it has a tropical garden, poolside decking, a bbq and sun beds. There was no tropical garden, a few plants in the corner of the pool area lit up at night, no decking, and 2 sun sun beds for 8 people. There were 6 chairs and a wooden table. We had to ask for a BBQ which eventually arrived a few days later and was cleaned outside the villa. No tools or fuel for it were provided.

The general outside area needs a good refurbishment as does a lot of the inside of the villa. The kitchen is dated, there is no manual provided and it took ages to work out that the oven is gas. Wood work is needing to be replaced and the master bathroom had cracks on the bidet and toilet cistern. The tiles and shower area need regrouting, the safety security box in the bedroom does not work. The head board in the master bedroom is velour a every morning parts of it disintegrated and could be found on the pillow and sheets.

Extremely disappointed with Medlock Villas and would not recommend. Their advertised high prices do not in any way reflect the quality one would expect and there is a distinct lack of communication. We feel we ought to make this known to anyone considering renting a holiday villa. What should have been a relaxing start to a well earned holiday for my parents and their friends was the opposite and totally unacceptable.

Amazing experience. Our family has spent the most amazing holiday at this villa. It’s so clean . Size of villa it’s big. Swimming pool is well maintained. Very quick response from the management team. Reasonable rate. Its better than hotels. It’s highly recommended to spend a good time with family in Dubai. Thank medlock

My family and I stayed here last week. Lovely villa in a great scenic location, with a mall and super market nearby. Villa was clean and fresh. Pool was a great joy for the kids. Staff were attentive and communication was quick. Highly recommend Medlock Villas.

Lovely villa, child friendly. The villa was spacious and the swimming pool was a very good size. The kids really enjoyed themselves. I would definitely look to come back.

Poorly maintained kitchen and bathrooms. The furnitures are totally different than the pictures. The only good thing was the pool and the Green garden.
It is to expensive for this quality...
We have found better villas at the same price.
We will not come back.

I feel sorry to complain about my first experience and will be the last one I just entered the villa which is supposed to be renewed and I found the following:

1- Bad smell is all over the living room and in the study room which is converted bedroom from the washroom
2-many cracks in floors doors etc
3-I didn’t find the study room as shared
4 - the pictures shared were very rosy compared to the actual.

I am really not satisfied about my first try and I explained that for the staff that I wanted to cancel with no success
The staff were not cooperative at all

I don't normally leave reviews but this is well deserved. The villa was spacious, clean and to top it off it had free WiFi. Having the pool was a bonus which my nephews really enjoyed.

All the bedrooms were clean and the on suite bathroom in the Master bedroom was also clean.

Location is very good, not too far from the airport which was nice after a long flight. Also not far from Emirates mall, Dubai mall and other tourist attractions.

Very reasonablely priced if compared to a hotel, paying that little extra for a villa with a swimming pool was totally worth it. Garden was well looked after with chairs and table provided.

The aircon system was easy to use and worked perfectly ( not possible to be in a place like dubai and have no aircon).

Will definitely recommend and would book again.

Terrible and poorly maintained villa. Every day there's a problem with the villa. Sometimes the AC's not working, there's only hot water in the shower, etc. It's really bad and definitely not worth the 20,000 Dirhams we paid. We feel like Medlock Villas robbed us. Avoid Medlock Villas at all cost, it's not worth coming here. Save your money for a better place.
