Food/breakfast is a little more expensive than other places but 100% is worth the extra due to the quality of the food and the service is top tier. The quote " you get what you pay for" is definitely applicable to this establishment. ☺️????

A relaxed pub that attracts customers of all ages. Even better in the summer when the outdoor seating can be used. Good selection of drinks that are well priced. A chilled glass corresponding to the selected drinks is typically offered. The bar is well staffed so getting served is always quick. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Haven't ever tried the food options but always looks good when viewed on other tables Fully recommend.

Welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, absolutely amazing staff, cold beer and a perfect location. The food is delicious, well sourced and reasonably priced. I couldn't think of any way to show off Colchester without stopping by The Castle Inn at some point.

Took my Scottish mate in there Saturday night. Was empty. Loads of table and chairs. Right up my street. Got a couple of beers and a sausage roll. That was proper nice as well. Showed my mate the castle in the dark an aw. Very underrated boozer.

First time visitors and not disappointed. lovely warm welcome for four adults, a two year old and our small dog. Water bowl brought out for our dog whilst we looked through the food options. Lovely food at reasonable prices and attentive staff. Nothing to fault, we'll definitely be back.

Had an amazing lunch here today. One of the best pub lunches I’ve had recently. Warm and welcoming atmosphere as well. Will defo be back.

This is a wonderful pub. Land lady is really welcoming as are all the staff. Great choice of drinks and the food is fabulous. Highly recommend the Sunday roasts!!. Very dog friendly pub and they even have their own menu! Great atmosphere, what more could you want! Highly recommended!!

Highly recommend pub with friendly staff, check if food ok. The fish finger sandwich in granary bread best ever. Fish gujon crispy golden brown with plenty of tartare sauce, ready salted crisps great accompaniment and delicious coleslaw freshly made in the kitchen. Will bring friends and family next time-thank you to the team I really enjoyed lunch!
