A quaint and lovely old house. Right beside Loch Awe. Fabulous staff and although the menu is restricted it changes and is of excellent quality. It is a very quiet and relaxing location. Wifi is slow but that just adds to the relaxed atmosphere and didn't bother me a tall. We will return!

I would have given it zero stars if I could. The rooms were super mediocre with dirty towels and stained bed sheets, to the point that i found myself checking this supposedly 4-star hotel room for bed bugs. the shower was broken and you could visibly see molds around the tiles. The worst parts of the experience however were the staff and the food. Breakfast was probably the worst I had in my entire trip in Scotland. The staff, very rude and grumpy. The breakfast table was absolutely ridiculous. We had to ask separately for water, for glasses to drink water, for salt and pepper, for coffee, and few other items that at any descent hotel, you would have anticipated to be brought to you. When we asked for these items, the waiter (who we later realized was also the manager), waved a dismissal gesture at us and told us he had other guests to attend to. When we complained about their attitude, they responded by calling us rude and inconsiderate for needing too many things (basically, coffee, drinking glasses, salt and pepper, lemons, and butter). Keep in mind, It is not a buffet so things need to be brought to you. The breakfast was also very low in quality, the haggis tasted pretty awful. Also items were mostly tossed at the table every time they brought something to us. Eventually they charged us 35 pounds for this absolute garbage they served us. We will never ever go back, good luck to you if you choose to go!

We got there around 9 PM. The location is definitely a little bit remote and requires more signing.
Upon arrival we were told the kitchen is closed and they can only serves us desert. The receptionist took us personally and showed us to our room. Run down corridors with squeaky floors. Once we were in the room the condition did not improve much and we were told brown water is normal to Bath in and drink in the designated area. … once we settled , we tried to order some dessert and were told they can’t serve us any and she had never mentioned she could !
Four of us could not have heard the same thing.
Our beddings had stains on it and we had asked for a king size bed! To our surprise two single bed were placed next to each other and we could totally feel the void in the mattress.
Next day at breakfast it took the staff a good few minutes to recognise and welcome us. once sited, both acted as if we didn’t exist. I would say I requested service three times in total and upon third time when I wished to ask the gentleman for a bottle of still water he literally had his hand in my face telling me he is busy serving other clients! There were only at most 3-4 other tables were at breakfast . The hotel is definitely under staff and would say rude staff. Upon checking out was the only time they were actually trying to make up for all the mess made I would say.
Definitely and unpleasant experience and hardly a 3 star resort.

Room described with bathrobes still and sparkling water and artisan biscuits we got none of first two and caramel wafers instead. Room disappointing service would be 4 had we not heard breakfast waitress tell guest it was croissants or a full breakfast. No cereal juices or fresh fruit out for breakfast. I had cooked food was nice for breakfast on dbb rate dinner choice excellent and very nice. Room tired. Breakfast Menus covered in food stains cutlery dirty. Grounds too overgrown and dangerous walks full of trip hazards The Included welcome drink not offered on arrival we had to ask for this. At breakfast waitress didn't ask if food was good and also not checked on departure also. Such a beautiful location hotel has great potential and all staff except breakfast were really friendly.

Really beautiful setting and quirky hotel. I do feel it needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to it’s former self. I think, given the setting, it would be money well spent. The grounds are equally needing an overhaul and what an amazing place it would be! The food is wonderful and something that doesn’t need an overhaul.

We returned to the hotel where we married 20 years previously. The magical mystery of the Ardanaiseig Hotel is undimmed. If you are the kind of person who nitpicks on small details you may well find them. But if you’re a hopeless romantic prepared to let Ardanaiseig cast its spell then you may have the experience of a lifetime in this special corner of paradise.

Spent 2 nights here with my wife and our dog Boo, the location is stunning, the once magnificent grounds are overgrown and being reclaimed by nature but you still get a real sense of the prior grandeure; the specimen trees are still majestic and at the front of the hotel, about 200ft West is a quite stunning 50ft Magnolia, we spent 2 days wandering around and discovering the secrets of the esate. Hotel itself excudes charm and character, aye it's a wee bit frayed at the edges but comfortable and relaxing; the staff are so welcoming and passionately committed to the hotel, made us feel at home and the food is outstanding, breakfast and dinners were of the highest standard. Thanks for a superb stay and we will see you again, soon! Stevie, Eileen and Boo

Enjoyed my stay. Suited me, though not my wife, who is more an "activities" person and prefers modern hotels.

Subdued luxury in terms of the decor (public and private spaces). Maybe a little tired but still a lovely place to sit and read with some cracking views and some nice fires.

I imagine it's glorious in summer. The grounds obviously used to be superb but have sadly fallen on hard times.

Food a mixed bag. Probably a bit above average for hotels but there were some weak spots. Very pleasant staff though.

If you're a nervous driver you might not enjoy the country roads leading to it.
