The retreat camp is so far the best stay we had in the UAE with our family, this place is without a doubt a magical corner of heaven in the heart of the mountains of Fujeirah. The cleanliness of the villas are impeccable ,I believe they use brand new bed sheets for each and every guest as the linen was perfectly ironed and arranged inside our room,had a divine scent ,the mattress are exactly or if not even better than the one you find in the 5 stars hotels, the retreat is using luxurious filling choice pillows of maximum comfort :soft and comfy, that simply make you wanna stay in bed all day.But that it's not going to happen because after a night slept in the arms of Mother Nature you will be woken up by the sound of the birds and a beautiful sunrise.The breakfast, lunch and dinner are royal, they are using only organic products, rich in healthy options and served by the kindest and most attentive staff ever.Staff will immediately make you feel like you have arrived home no matter which part of the world you will be coming from.
We only stayed for 3 days, but we wished it had been longer.The bathrooms are also extremely clean and kept clean throughout the day,towells soft and as white as snow.The place was build in a eco friendly-manner therefore they're protecting the nature.

Tips for travellers and must see around the area:Heritage Village Museum,Al-Bidya Mosque the oldest mosque in the uae,early morning hikes.

We loved the paintimg classes during the day and the campfires at night and we can't wait to be back!I have placed this resort as TOP 10 THINGS TO DO WHILE VISITING UAE.Coming out from the crowded city with a high level of stress I must stay that in these 3 days we have completely disconnected and recharged our batteries for a new week!

The place and ambience is a plus... Big time need to focus on the food side... I stayed two nights and fed like in prison...just a hot dog and scrambled egg will not help for the charge paid... vacation's are meant to keep happy tummy... if people realize a good food is must during their holidays.. please stay away

This was one of the best places I have been to here in the UAE. the place is really quite full of nature, fresh air delicious food, wonderful cabin's, bonfire, amazing service and the people there are just awesome. I would definitely go back there I had so much peace away from all the online craziness. It felt good detoxing. Thumbs up guys

Absolutely wonderful place. The campsite recently opened again after the warm summer months. We did two hikes with our amazing guide, Salem. Food was superb, nothing was too much to ask for as well. Water, fruits, coffee & tea and breakfast and dinner included. Not to mention the nice library on the site.

Absolutely beautiful location! Was a little tricky to find when following the sat nav however after a phone call to the location a member of staff came to find us.
Inside the compound of the retreat was like an oasis with beautiful fruit trees, plenty of green and friendly staff.
We were treated to a great dinner and a morning hike up one of the smaller local hills by the oldest mosque in the UAE and down by an old fishing village to return to find our breakfast ready
Lovely little place with fantastic staff, I would say
manage your expectations, we would consider returning if we were in the area

The Retreat Camp is an ideal place to slow down, relax, and do some digital detox.

The property sits in a big garden with houses/rooms designed in the traditional Emirati architecture. It's like staying in a local's house. No internet available so we played cards and board games, read books, hiked up a rocky hill to meet the sunrise, rode bikes, played badminton, and went to a nearby public beach. Traditional Arabic food for breakfast and dinner is inclusive so it's all very chill. Staff is very attentive and accommodating. Gratitude to Mr Mohammad, Saleem, and Baha. Overall, an amazing experience. We mastered the "art of doing nothing"! Highly recommended! We'll be back soon!

The Retreat is simply an amazing place!
From the moment my wife Nicole and I arrive to The Retreat we felt that we had arrived to an oasis in the middle of these impressive desert mountains in Al Fujaira, UAE.

It is not just an oasis, but the replica of a complete Arab fort, with surrounding walls built out of beautiful stones from the nearby mountains, with floors built out of recycled railroad ties, an assortment of massive wooden furniture, as well as an Arab decor. The room and bathroom are very spacey, the quality of the bed for a good night sleep, outstanding.

The chef, Bajaa, and our trecking companion Salem, are extremely customer service oriented people that made our stay a pleasure. The quality food served at The Retreat is delicious and our morning sunrise walk up the mountains, unforgettable. The Retreat sits at the foot of the mountains and only a 5 minutes' drive from beautiful beaches. We also thank Mohammed, the operations manager, for a wonderful reception and attention over the three nights we stayed at The Retreat.

I was really happy to find a place in the UAE that was built in such a sustainable manner with wood, locally available stones, palm fronds, cane etc. It looked like they have also repurposed junk wood to create furniture, loved that! It was a lovely experience, staying in a cosy cottage, amidst the hills, with no fancy things like TV, bathtub or WiFi but a lot of peace and closeness to nature. The staff was really warm and cooperative.

As an eco-conscious traveller I was happy to find that they use solar power to light up the place and heat water. Instead of giving toiletries in small plastic bottles they have the concept of refillable dispensers which is great way of reducing wastage.

However, as someone who prefers to live plastic-free, I'd have been happier to not use disposable plastic cutlery for every meal. If Covid is a reason for using disposables then they must get wooden ones or give a heads up to the guests to bring their own cutlery. I'd have carried my own had I known earlier.

They could have also had a low-waste arrangement for drinking water. I ended up using at least 20 plastic bottles in two days! This is terrible because I never buy water packaged in plastic. I wish they had the big 20ltr dispensers in the common areas, even in the rooms, for people like me who carry their own refillable glass/metal bottles. Water packaged in plastic is unavoidable in the UAE, but one should try to reduce it by going for the largest pack possible.

I am sure most guests don't care about reducing plastic and probably even demand such arrangements but as an eco-conscious retreat, working towards becoming sustainable, they must try to give low-waste options.

Other than this I had a beautiful experience. Would love to go and stay there again ????
