It's an older lock but in a very pretty and tranquil location. Easy to get to from Kirtlington Quarry and a nice towpath to walk along too. There is a footpath that runs across the river there too and a small Weir too.

All the locks on the lower Oxford canal are of architectural interest. Many are in need of repair with leaking gates that are hard to open and stiff paddles and this is no exception

Really enjoyed our boat trip. Pigeons lock was beautiful and I videoed the process as it was a great view point.

Lovely place out on the cut. Quite a stiff lock but a gentle trip down makes it all worth it. A great place to moor for the evening.

We had a nice walk along the canal from the quarry and pigeon lock was our end point before turning back. Very tranquil setting.

Nice loch and amazing wildlife especially if u go on a canal boat and good for teens and gets them active

It’s a great shame the Canal and River Trust cannot be bothered to dispose of the high amount of reeds that have been fished out of the weir. If they removed the reeds from the canal on a more regular basis we would not have these piles of rubbish littering the canals.
