Totaly empty on summer times and no many visitors. But during winter there are lots if visitors. The wadi is alive only when it rains and as soon as the dam dam dries out it’s just an empty place.
Good for long drives in winter time and camping.

Secluded and hidden behind the hills of the Hajar mountains in Fujairah. This is a sleepy small dam.
Although in the summers it is dry as a bone but can’t wait to visit this place when a few showers would be bestowed in this area.
A dam monitoring station and a small dam complete this isolated place which lies in the centre of the small valley created.
Do not expect any nearby spots for tea or refreshments of any kind.
Just before the area you will pass a suburb of Fujairah with local residents. Be respectful as it’s their quiet residential homes.
Small vehicles may find it difficult to reach the place as you will encounter stony terrain so be aware.

Beautiful and peaceful place for a family outing. We were lucky as water was there in the dam (28.12.19). The scenes with mountain, water were amazing and awesome. Driving down further will bring you to the Al Hayl Castle. Another beautiful place with basic amenities such as masjid and rest rooms. You can be assured of enjoying your day out. You will need to carry lighting arrangements if you plan to leave after dinner BBQ.

Small place, deserted usually, no rush on Fridays. Not much to see, mainly peace and quiet for a barbeque or to sit and read a book. In Feb 2020, lot of mosquitoes due to the still water, better to take adequate protection. No facilities like supermarkets and toilets around.
It is good drive from Dubai, straight roads, less traffic and few speed cameras.

If you love to go into nature, that is away from city's huss and buss, then this place will be a great choice. you can go here with a sedan car also. first you can see the dam( can have barbecue/relax ) and then if you drive further ahead you will get the al hayl fort. which is a well maintained historic watch fort.
highly recommended place

It's an awesome place in Al Hayl Fujairah... with mountains n water...
U can go there for BBQ n day out n explore the mountains...
Rocky mountains have springs in it... water comes out from a place...
We had great time there...
Near by is a mosque as well as a museum is also there...
U can hire a cottage made of mud and covered with wooden ceiling...
A fort sort of thing is also being built there...

Great place, about 12 km from the city centre ...the road is not bad even with a small car you can drive up to there...beautiful views, great for pics .
