Quoted by Elisha Cuthbert that “There is nothing more romantic than Italian food.”
After dining at Gioia we completely agree with this as the moment we stepped in the restaurant we were awe-struck with the ambience and the very warm welcome by the staff. We couldn’t stop admiring the interiors, and the beautiful concept of open kitchen at the restaurant, where chefs were professionally dressed with a vibe of a MasterChef kitchen.
Located in The Fairmont Ajman Hotel near the pool and beach area, where one can enjoy a very romantic Italian Dinner.
After the warm welcome, we were seated on our table and offered an enticing menu with vast amount of options, but the server was quite helpful with suggesting their best sellers and must try’s. While waiting for our starters to arrive we were presented with a basket of freshly baked breads alongside a creamy butter and olive oil & chilli sauce. The bread was soft and went perfectly well with the creamy butter. Then the chef created a special Amuse Bouche for us of a stick with rolled meat, cheese with a dip of very delicious fig chutney.
For the drinks we were surprised with a very refreshing bartender special drink. It was a mix of apple, pineapple, orange and mango combination. Every flavor was prominent yet not too over powering.
The starters we went for was vegetable soup, served in a cute pot alongside pesto sauce and although being pure non-veg and always opting for chicken corn soup, this soup met all our expectations and tasted delicious. For salad, of course we opted for the Buratta, as one can never go to an Italian restaurant and not indulge in a cheesy Buratta. The salad was creamy, made to our liking with lettuce leaves and just tomatoes.
Moving on to the mains, their Risotto is highly recommended by the staff and you will understand why, as soon as you take the first bite. The risotto is just perfect with little pouches of meat stuffed pasta, with a creamy luscious sauce and topped with generous amount of Parmesan cheese.
Next was the baked lamb rack and it was the most succulent meat. A perfect combination of meat, hand crushes mashed potatoes, snow peas, gorgonzola and juz. A generous late of meat serving, packed with flavor and all the right ingredients. The meats are of the finest quality and will melt in your mouth.
Desserts are just fantastic. They are eye pleasing and presentations of the plates are on point. The Crème Brule is served in a bowl like plate with a crisp pistachio chip on the side. The dessert is not too sweet but extremely creamy. Another favorite is the chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream. The oozing dark chocolate and the cold vanilla ice cream along with that soft fondant cake is just a perfect ending.
Overall I did enjoy my experience at Gioia, I do recommend the place for a great Italian cuisines with great ambience as you can thoroughly enjoy the taste of Italy at this restaurant.
