What is the advantage of hypermarkets?

For consumers

If you have a hypermarket near you, you're probably well aware of its two largest benefits to consumers: one-stop shopping and low prices. Perhaps the most obvious hypermarket advantage is that it allows shoppers to find and purchase a wide assortment of consumer goods in one location.

When you get in the Carrefour Hypermarket you can feel the trust. Last time i had 2 wrappers full of shopping. I went to submit that, they said no problem you can take it with you. That was heart touching.

While Carrefour has been our go to for groceries, the butchery staff at this branch are never helpful and quite lazy.
On the 27th evening, we asked for a fresh chicken to be cut to our size preference and were told to instead take a packet from the pre-packaged shelf which was was not fully cleant of its skin and fat. The counter was not even busy at the time.

MAF, complaining to the management at your store is quite useless as excuses are always made. The quality of customer service has to improve.

Good hypermarket with a lot of clothing, groceries, fruits, vegetables, drinks, nuts, personal care items etc for men, women and children. Clothes that range from cheap to expensive are available here. Close to the counter there is a separate section for watches. Also if you are visiting Dubai then there are a lot of things available to be bought as souvenirs.

Disappointing Experience at Carrefour: False Advertising and Poor Customer Service

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at Carrefour that left me feeling frustrated and cheated. I had come across a promotional offer in their leaflet advertising a specific item at a discounted price. Excited about the deal, I visited my local Carrefour store, hoping to avail myself of the offer. However, what followed was a series of disappointments that made me question the integrity of Alfuttaim group and its commitment to customer satisfaction.I've photos of leaflet and product as a proof but unable to attach here due to no option available for same.

Upon arriving at the store, I headed straight to the section where the advertised item was supposed to be. To my dismay, I found that the item was not displayed with any indication of the promotional price. Assuming it was an oversight, I approached a store staff member for assistance. I showed them the offer leaflet and explained that I wished to purchase the item at the advertised discounted rate.

To my surprise, the staff member seemed unaware of the promotion and insisted that the item was priced at its regular rate. I was taken aback, as the leaflet clearly stated that the item was available at a lower price. I politely asked the staff member to check with a supervisor or someone in charge to clarify the situation.

After a few minutes, a man who introduced himself as Mr. Deepak, the team leader, approached me. I reiterated my request, showing him the offer leaflet once again. However, much to my disappointment, Mr. Deepak not only refused to honor the promotional price but also displayed an uncooperative and dismissive attitude towards my concern. He insisted that the item was not part of the promotion and that I would have to pay the regular price.

Feeling frustrated and deceived, I attempted to reason with Mr. Deepak by pointing out that the offer was clearly advertised and that the discrepancy was unfair to customers. However, he remained unmoved and uninterested in resolving the issue. His lack of empathy and unwillingness to provide a satisfactory resolution left me with a sour taste in my mouth.

As a loyal customer of Carrefour, I expected better treatment and honest business practices from the store. It is disheartening to see a company resorting to false advertising and then refusing to rectify the situation when confronted with evidence. Such practices not only tarnish the reputation of Carrefour but also erode the trust and confidence of customers like myself.

I hope that Carrefour takes this feedback seriously and addresses the issues at hand. It is crucial for them to uphold their promises and ensure that customers are treated fairly and respectfully. I am left deeply disappointed and reconsidering my future patronage of Carrefour, as this experience has undoubtedly left a negative impression on me.

Crowhurst Manor House was owned by Harold Godwinson in 1066. It has Norman arches in the ground floor and is a national monument. The yew was planted in pre-history before the church was built when it was a local enclosure where men met to do business. The yew tree has recently been measured by a UK yew tree expert and wood sampled. The date given for the yew was 2,300 years old and may be older.

This tree which is situated within the grounds of the St. George's Parish Church in the village of Crowhurst is at least 950 years old. This ancient Yew tree was present in 1066 when King Harold II owned the land it sits on.

The tree is safeguarded with a metal railing around it and there is an informative plaque located on the front side.

This remarkable old yew tree has an almost identical twin at St George’s parish church at Crowhurst in Surrey, and the two trees are often confused in literature. John Aubrey found this yew to be 33 feet in girth at the base and 27 feet at 4 feet from the ground in 1680. This yew is apparently over 1,300 years old, and could easily top the 1,500 year mark. Experts have calculate that the yew was planted in this sacred site by the South Saxons around 700 AD. There has been a church on the site for at least a thousand years with the earliest documented reference to Crowhurst going back to 772AD.

De takken vsn de boom zijn gesnoeid, waardoor hij minder imposant is dan hij zou kunnen zijn/is geweest. Bomen in de buurt zijn zeker ook de moeite waard om te bekijken.
