Pleasant pub and staff, by a main road but not too busy. Called ahead to request an evening meal and to park up in MoHome and stay overnight in car park. No problems . Views from car park were lovely although weather very wet. Ate steak and ale pie with chips and veg. Generous portions, lots of tasty meat but pie pastry needs improvement however, enjoyed my dinner then had a good night's sleep. Pub closed quite early but it is undergoing repairs. Scaffolding to front and side.

This pub on this road has to be the one to stop off at , great outdoor seating for walkers, bikers, or just passing by in the great weather. Inside has plenty of space. Food what can I say, came with in a reasonable time. Best of all it tasted and looked great . I'll definitely going back.
Staff was polite and the place was clean ????

Dropped in as we were passing 6 adults and 2 kids with 1 small dog.. First time we've been and I popped in first to see if we could be accommodated with some food. Firstly I would like to say the chef greeted us in with very friendly open arms and found us the perfect spot to all sit together. The menu choice was perfect for all of us and the steak I had was cooked to perfection medium rare, the peppercorn sauce was amongst the best we ever tasted! Very good friendly service all round from start to finish. My only wish is that we lived closer to enjoy more of this great food.
Thanked the chef afterwards for doing a great job... brilliant, well done guys!

Stayed at the camp site next door so the pub was ideal. Had the shady stack burger which wasn't for the faint hearted. Plenty of stuff stacked inside it and ideal after a long day's walking. Prices for the drink were fair considering the location etc... would stop in again if nearby

Notice by entrance said "well behaved dogs were allowed" After our food arrived, we had to endure constant barking the whole of our hour there, some scarily aggressive!! Food wise had ran out of a lot so only half of menu available and then my gammon steak arrived minus the promised egg or pineapple. Very disappointed.????????

Edit after landlord left response which has now been deleted:
Shame that every criticism, no matter how minor about this pub is answered by the pub in a very aggressive way. I did not say the soup was tinned. I did not say the salad was old. I did not say the ciabatta was reheated. These are all things you have said in your response. Disappointing that you are unable to take on board anything that is said and work towards being a better place.

Nice man behind the bar but the prices are ridiculous. £20 for a basic toasted ciabatta with token lettuce, watery soup, 2 diet Pepsi (flat) and a packet of crisps. Nice views. Food was served promptly and barman was very helpful getting extra mayonnaise. Left the soup though.

A lovely local pub. Good vegan and vegetarian options. Tasty vegan burger and chips and an excellent buttery jacket potato. Price is good too! It gets busy so worth booking on a bank hol/weekend

Stayed overnight in my campervan, after phoning to check this was OK. Had a fantastic hike in the Goyt Valley and then enjoyed some nicely kept pints of Marstons 61 Deep as a reward. The owners are really friendly and welcoming. Good food and large portions!
Will definitely be back!
