The only thing that we wish was different was the atmosphere. We wish the atmosphere was more lively. Maybe we came at the wrong time.

We arrived there at 9pm and straight away got served drinks and the "amuse bouche" (we were not even asked if any food allergies, etc, which is a very common question in any restaurant). We were served by Mohammed. We ordered ice and something where i could leave the bag and half an hour later we were still waiting for these to arrive. We had to remind them again. By 9.40pm (i.e. 40 minutes after having eaten the "amuse bouche") we queried when the next courses would arrive and we were told that the "salad" was on its way and that all courses will be expedited to our table (this is not what we were asking for! we definitely did not want to be rushed with the coming dishes but for these to be brought to our table with less time in between). Whilst having dinner (and without having finished the dish), we were constantly being asked whether they could bring the next dish to which we responded that we first wanted to finish the current dish before a new one was brought in. Every time a new dish was served to the table, we were expecting a description or an explanation of what the dish was (which is very common in high class restaurants or at least restaurants that belong to a high class hotel/resort). Nothing at all. The dish is brought to the table and waiter leaves immediately thereafter. This is definitely not the type of service you would expect from a restaurant that belongs to a 5 start resort and is led by an executive chef that appears to have a great career and has trained in Michelin start restaurants in the past. As an example of the “sharing dishes”, a salad comprised of a few baby spinach leaves, one single walnut cut into pieces, 5-6 fruit pieces and two (not three not four, two!) tiny bits of cheese (of the size of a hazelnut) is brough to the table. All 6 courses were extremely tiny and to be shared (the only dish that was not to be shared was the main course: beef short ribs extremely salty, dry and not even hot). It seemed that the main course had been prepared hours in advance and reheat at that time. Eventually, we finished the dinner and when we got the bill, the waiter asked "how was everything" to which we responded "the service could have been better". He did not say anything at all, just took the valet parking ticket for stamping and left. His question about how everything was, was just a standard question and not a question to understand the clients’ feedback to improve things, if required. All this for a price tag of AED 800 per person. Definitely not recommending this place at all, extremely poor service, below average food and definitely one of the worst culinary experiences (if not the worst) I have attended during my last 11 years in Dubai.
