Bad customer service on stubborn policies that’s violating basic customer rights.
I went to Magrabi store in Dubai Mall on Jan 15, 2023 and bought 3 pairs of sunglasses worths about AED2,150. I asked the staff after payments and was assured that I have 14 days to exchange or refund, which was also clearly written on the bottom of the receipt. Three days later, on Jan 18, 2023, I went back to the same store to exchange 1 pair of sunglasses due to quality issue with my original receipt and brand new sunglasses that I never worn. I was rejected because they claimed I used voucher payment.
I explained to them that:
1. I confirmed expressly with the Magrabi optical staff on the purchase day that I have 14 days of exchange and refund.
2. On the receipt, it is clearly written in black ink that there is 14 days to exchange and refund as a customer right. I brought the original receipt along with the sunglass which was never worn, yet my request to exchange sunglasses after 3 days of purchase was rejected.
3. Exchanges should be easily arranged within the company regardless of the method of payment. If such a ridicules policy exists, they should have informed me before the purchase, but not shock their customers by taking away basic customer rights after the purchase.
As an alternative arrangement, I left my pair of sunglass to be exchanged with the store as plan B for they are hoping to sort this out internally. They don’t guarantee the exchange. I will keep this review updated.
On Jan 19, they informed me no exchange and asked me to take back the sunglass. Unacceptable service! Avoid Magrabi Optical at all cost!
