Empathetic: Understands what it’s like to be a student who may lack confidence, feel stressed, be overwhelmed or just not understand the material.
Honest: Don’t hesitate to say that you do not know about a particular concept. Trying to bluff your way through will only hurt the student and your reputation in the long run.
Enthusiastic: If the tutor does not display a love for the subject they are tutoring, how can they expect the student to enjoy it. Come to the lab with a positive attitude that will rub off on the students.

There are 3 main characteristics that I look for in a tutor and this guy possessed all of them.

1) Patience: This is probably one of the most important characteristics of a tutor. Never act annoyed that the student does not know something. Even if they ask the most basic question, always demonstrate your patience.

Non-judgmental: doesn’t make assumptions about students; treats all students as individuals who want to learn and have the ability to learn no matter what their personal background or circumstances are

Empathetic: Understands what it’s like to be a student who may lack confidence, feel stressed, be overwhelmed or just not understand the material.

I really feel like I hit the jackpot with this tutor and would definitely recommend him to anyone trying to learn while having fun!

Very empathetic teacher really understands that all students require different strategies for teaching and adapts well to all students and all levels. Asks lots of open ended question to really engage the students in learning and enhance critical thinking skills. Also he’s very enthusiastic and passionate about the subject and it really shows that he cares. Overall an amazing tutor. Would highly recommend.

Can explain material in multiple ways; understands that not all students understand concepts the same way and the first time; can sense when students do not understand and willingly tries another approach of presenting the Material.

Desire to help, make a difference; gets satisfaction seeing others succeed.

Shows respect for students as persons. Try to understand their struggles.

Patience is probably one of the most important characteristics of a tutor. The tutor never acts annoyed that the student does not know something. Always demonstrates patience even if the student asks a basic question

This tutor is 1 of the best tutors i've , he was always patient even when I asked him the simplest questions , he always kept confidentiality with private things that i told him (like any handicaps I had or my marks), he asks very good open ended questions, and in my opinion the best quality this tutor has is his huge passion and enthusiasm he has for his profession which made (in my opinion) the classes way more interesting and interactive. So if you're struggling with physics or math like I did , i promise you that this tutor will help improve by a huge margin.
