Fabulous, I think it's all volunteer run. Really knowledgeable volunteers and friendly. Main reason for the visit was to see Jones's van from Dad's Army. Recommend visiting here. Free entry, but donations gratefully accepted. Dog friendly.

Absolutely brilliant museum. We were very warmly welcomed by volunteers. The ground floor is accessible and the volunteers are keen to tell the stories relating to the vehicles and stately engines. Corporal Jones ' van from Dads Army has a very interesting history and we spent a fair time talking to Alan(?) about it. Also heard about the two large steam engines. Don't forget to look up at the roof!! A great visit. Highly recommend. It's the volunteers that make this place so good.
We were sad not to be able to visit the Dad's Army museum as it is only open on Saturday, am sure it would be equally fascinating

Didn't get to look around properly as arrived as they were closing (note closing time is 2.00 pm).

Staff so friendly they let me in to see Dad's Army's Mr Jones van even though they were about to lock up, and then helped with directions to find Captain Mainwairing's statue.

What I did see seemed compact but informative for those interested in Burrell, steam etc.

A small but interesting industrial museum. During our visit there were several very knowledgeable volunteers to explain the exhibits, which include the original Jones van from Dad's Army.
Entry is free and dogs are welcome.

Fantastic but small steam museum run entirely by volunteers and (incredibly) free to visit!
The Dad's Army original van from the TV series is also housed here.
Well worth planning a visit.

A lovely little museum. Very interesting whether you know anything about burrell or not. It explains the history behind the company and the family and the museum is housed inside the original paint shop building.

Small museum with impressive machines. Little one is obsessed with machines a d wheels but he wanted to badly touch the small one (which he couldn't) ..so had to be a quick visit. Staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and definitely worth a visit. Hopefully we will pop around again when the machines are working - we couldn't make the Halloween event unfortunately.
