Went to the ladies toilet when the Christmas Market was on, the queue was huge and I dreaded the worse even when I saw that it was 20p to get in (coin or cashless) I thought there would be no loo roll and it would be unclean but actually the queue went down quite fast (I joined the queue at boots) and there was toilet roll and it was super clean.

Impressed and will remember these exist next time I visit

I simply feel that the time for people to be charged for public toilets is long since past. In fact, I haven't seen one for years. Bakewell is a prosperous town, thronging with tourists driving a huge amount of money into the town.

If the council still somehow need further money, then raise the parking charges if you must, or even a tourist tax for staying there, but don't charge for public toilets. It really sets a poor tone.

May '21.
Nice clean fresh warm modern toilets.
All cubicles were clean & had paper tissue available on my visit after a busy Saturday afternoon.
Hot running water, soap & decent hand dries at the sinks.
I dont mind paying for a facility this good but as public toilets provided by the local council I do think that there should be a way of accessing them if you dont happen to have a 20 pence coin on you, especially as we move away from using cash as a society.
Still a good facility though. Thank you to the council for providing it in my moment of need!

While nice toilets you have to pay 20p to use the toilet which really isn't acceptable. They do have a contactless machine to pay, but it is a basic human necesity to go to the toilet, and one you shouldn't have to pay for.

Go to Bourton-on-the-water and copy them spotlessly clean toilets

20p to use a toilet. Not a great way to ensure people come back to your town. The machine ate my 20p piece too but luckily it had a contactless option. So my comfort break cost me 40p. Toilets weren't even in that great a state either. Shame on you Bakewell!

Visited for Bakewell's Christmas Market. We were disgusted to find no other toilets open despite the fact there were bus loads of people plus all those who had parked! Not enough toilets for such a busy event, porta loos or something should have been put in place.
