One of the best part of travelling to different countries is trying new food. But what do we do since we can't travel nowadays?
Good thing I found Baan Thai Restaurant! They bring the best flavours of Thailand to Abu Dhabi, and they will deliver it straight to your doorstep.
From a non-Thai perspective, I always thought their food is always spicy. While many Thai dishes are incredibly spicy, there are plenty of dishes from Baan Thai that aren’t. Non-spicy Thai Food doesn't make the dish any less "Thai"; it simply means it is not spicy.
I was browsing their menu and I have seen a lot of variations. From Appetizers, Salads, Soups, to meats such as Beef, Chicken and Sea Food. They also have options for Vegetarians, and since we're going Thai, you can't afford to miss their Noodles, Rice and Curries.
Here are the dishes that I ordered and I am so thrilled to try them all:
Cashew Nut Chicken
It's a Wok-fried Chicken with Cashew Nuts, Dry Chili, Capsicum, Onion, Spring Onion and Baby Corn. This was the first one that I took a bite to as it's look is so inviting. I love how the flavors explode in my mouth at the first bite. The flavors of the nuts and vegetable really blend well, and the chicken is so tender and fresh. The inner part of the chicken meat also absorbed the overall taste of the dish which makes it more delightful.
Stir Fried Beef in Black Pepper Sauce
It is also wok-fried, mixed with some Capsicums and Black Pepper Sauce. Personally when it comes to beef, I am very particular with its tenderness. If the meat is hard, I don't enjoy the meal anymore. But this one is one of the most tender beef I have ever tried! It is soft that it cuts so easily and very easy to chew. The sauce along with fresh capsicums makes the dish more tasty and delicious.
Green Curry Chicken
It is a curry made of Coconut Milk, Lime Leaves, Thai Eggplant, Small Eggplant, Red Chili and Sweet Basil Leaves. This bowl of curry is so inviting from the time you open its cover. You can smell it's aroma right away and you will definitely grab your spoon uncontrollably. The combination of these ingredients make a perfect taste. One thing I love about this dish too is that there is no after-taste, and the chicken meat is very tender and delightful. This dish is best served when hot along with a hot steaming Vegetable Fried Rice.
Vegetable Fried Rice
It is mixed with some Broccoli, Spring onion and Coriander. The rice is perfectly steamed. It is not soggy nor hard. The vegetables are also well blended and the Broccoli is crunchy and delicious! This dish was also fried perfectly, and is not oily nor dry.
Pad Thai with Chicken
My Thai Meal won't be complete without this world-renowned Pad Thai. It's a Chicken dish with Rice Noodles stir fried in Sweet Tamarind Sauce & garnished with Bean Sprouts and ground Peanuts. The ingredients were sauteed together in a wok, hence it created an evenly distribution of mouth-watering flavors. Its Pad Thai sauce gave the dish its signature tangy-salty flavor with a hint of sweetness. Perfect combination indeed!
Sticky Rice with Mango
This traditional Thai dessert is just wow! For some who are not familiar, this Thai dish is made of glutinous rice, fresh mango and coconut milk. The combination of these 3 ingredients create a perfect blend of milky-sweet-sour flavor on your taste buds. The rice alone is very scrumptious, and the ripe mango is extremely tasty and fresh. It is also not too fibrous and hard to chew. This meal will definitely leave you craving for more!
Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my Thai meal experience. Baan Thai Restaurant made this experience a lot more special with their fast delivery and amazing customer service. I was also so happy to get 10% discount when I order thru their website.True to their word, they indeed covered their 4 pillars (Authentic, Fresh, Sustainable and People) the Baan Thai way.
To all foodies out there who loves to explore new (and quality) dishes with good value for money, I highly recommend Baan Thai Restaurant!
