Sunday the 19th June our first time in this fantastic restaurant. The food was amazing starters, mains and cheese board the lot , delicious. Thanks to the truly lovely staff our Brazilian waitress Diane and waiter Cameron they totally made our day lots of fun great service. We loved it here and will definitely be back ????✔️????

Fantastic view- reasonable prices for the quality and taste of the food. Atmosphere was calm and pleasant.

Salmon risotto- very well seasoned, creamy, and delicious fresh salmon
Pork-belly with seasonal veggies was also very juicy and well seasoned.

Not as many vegetarian options as one would hope, however there was some.

Would definitely recommend and planning to go back.

Lovely afternoon on the outside terrace, stunning views over the water and of the bridges the food was wonderful, I had the mussels and my wife had the Nachos. Also had coffee and beer and wine later on. All staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming, they were also very understanding of the fact we had our dog Molly with us. She’s quite an anxious dog and not used to meeting other people, but they came to see her and some spent time making her feel welcome and safe.
Thank you to everyone, would highly recommend

What a lovely lunch. A great table, looking out at a panoramic view of the three bridges, as well as the harbour. There is also seating outside, but it was a little too windy today (late March)

The three course meal we had was top quality. Well presented and off good proportions. Service was quick and friendly. No hovering, just aware of where we were in the meal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Both for the location, quality of food, and service. I wish I had taken pictures of the food... enjoying it so much I forgot to.

My friend and I were looking for somewhere we hadn't been before with an interesting menu and decided on The Boat House.

At first glance, the menu looked very good, with all the things we both loved, so we had high hopes. These hopes were dashed when our starter of oysters came out. Both plates of 6 oysters had some very small and not very appealing oysters. We both had to leave a couple to be safe, which was a real shame. On top of this, we both found multiple pieces of shell while eating them. The mignonette was OK, but the shallots and beetroot were very chunkily cut without much care or precision. We also didn't get lemon with our oysters and had to signal the waitress to ask for some. As we were paying £15 each for the privilege of eating these oysters, we felt a little hard done by.

For mains, I had the pork belly, which I had been looking forward to since reading the menu. Sadly, I was disappointed again. Despite being presented very well, beauty was only skin deep here. The pork belly was tough and would have benefited from a few more hours low and slow to render out that fat. The pulled pork bon bon and the mac n cheese croquette were rather underseasoned, and the "pea puree" seemed to just be blitzed up mushy peas. The carrots seemed to dominate the plate, and I felt a little let down with the amount of pork belly on offer.

My friend had a scallop dish that was on the specials menu and was also disappointed. Underseasoned and unfortunately overcooked was the verdict, and also a rather minimal portion for the price.

For dessert, we opted for the sticky toffee pudding and were pleasantly surprised there. It was the "highlight" of the meal, if we were to find one.

I doubt we would return, which was a real shame. However, the views were beautiful, and the restaurant was lovely.

They may just need a shake-up in the kitchen.

Fantastic fresh seafood with an amazing view whilst dining of the Firth of Forth. The space is downstairs from the high street and has a very cozy feel about it. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the service was attentive and timely. The menu was wide, with a good selection of seafood, and drinks, and what we had was well portioned, reasonably priced and delicious. We will certainly be back.

Got a deal on itison ladt year and back again this year. Excellent choice on a la carte memu starter, main and sweet with freshly cook food piping hot and presentation beautifully served. An amazing panoramic view of the Forth Bridge whilst eating the meal. Truly South Queensferry Best Kept Secret!
