We've been coming here for over 18 years, sorry to say, never again.
We normally come out of season, but made the mistake of coming during the start of the school holidays.
Kelling Heath is sold as a peaceful, tranquil and relaxing holiday, dark sky, no WiFi and plenty of wildlife. Our experience was everything but.
We arrived on Saturday, and that evening we were relaxing in our Woodlark caravan, when the music started in the Square. The bass was so loud, it drowned out the TV. We spoke to the Duty Manager who got the volume turned down, about an hour later. After driving for over two and a half hours to get here, we just wanted a peaceful and relaxing evening. The following Tuesday, again there was music in the Square, which drowned out our TV, it finally stopped at 9pm. Our caravan although quite new, was disappointing, one of the toilets was so small that when you were in there, you couldn't close the door. The other toilet/shower was bigger but the shower was very small and cramped. The main bedroom was small, our feet stuck out of the small bed, which was also very uncomfortable. Kelling Heath is sold as a peaceful, tranquil and relaxing holiday, it wasn't for us.
Takeaway vans in the Square, over loud music, dogs barking, and their owners not clearing up after them. We had booked another holiday for September this year, but cancelled it, during our stay. The whole ethos of Kelling Heath has changed for the worse, in my opinion. We cut our holiday short by two days as there was entertainment in the Square on the Thursday and we didn't want to be subjected to over loud music, again. The day after we got home, we received a call from Kelling Heath asking why we cut our holiday short, we gave them the reasons, and was offered a discount on our next holiday at Kelling Heath, needless to say we won't be returning.
I am upset and disappointed that we won't be returning to Kelling Heath, but times change, not always for the better. ????????
