We had an exclusive media invite for the the Alpine Brunch and after brunch party.
Situated on Level 4 of Grand Plaza Movenpick, Bytes has a grand entrance that began with the dessert counter for the brunch, how cool is that. The views were really pretty with the tall window panes giving a lovely view of Dubai. There is an outdoor seating as well which would be amazing during the winter season. The music was a mix of Christmas songs, to the classic friends tunes anything that got you grooving and being merry with your drinks. The seating is really comfortable with couches and sofas for larger groups, while you have a high top benches to give you the pub kind of feel. The place is kid friendly as well.
Bite Board
We started off with a glass of wine and Appletini.
The food was split into three categories where few dishes would be served right at your table, some live cooking stations and your regular buffet counters.
There was a wide variety including Salads, cold cuts, fresh seafood, cheese accompanied by traditional raclette , pork, rib eye, lamb shank, sushi station, pasta & pizza, and breads.
We got ourselves an avocado sushi which was freshly prepared for us by the chef, and with his recommendation to mix wasabi and the soya sauce, the flavors were slightly spicy and tangy that matched our palate.
The rib eye was cooked to a medium rare with that lovely pink center. The cut was juicy and seasoned well. It was paired with roasted potatoes and a delicious black pepper gravy sauce.
From the mains, we tried the Oven Roasted Chicken “Backhendi”, ricotta Parmesan ravioli on sage butter, cheese spatzle with roasted onions and rosti potato with smoked salmon, sour cream and chives.
The oven roasted chicken was cooked well but was slightly dry and seemed a little bland, we would have preferred some seasoning to enhance the taste, whilst the fries were a great side crisp and delicious.
The ravioli was prepared perfectly and it was such a hit that we had two servings of it because why not.
The potatoes in our Rosti potatoes was slightly burned. We loved the smoked salmon but wished the potatoes that was paired with it were cooked a little better.
Cheese spatzle was similar to the comfort food of Mac and cheese. The macaroni was cooked to perfection and topped with warm gooey cheese, couldn’t go wrong with it.
On to our favorite part the desserts, a chocolate fountain with sides of marshmallows, brownies and strawberries, a macaron tower, different flavors of cakes like Black Forest, carrot cake, lemon tart, and the list goes on.
Our favorites would be of course the chocolate fountain because we are chocoholics by nature and along with the macarons, we couldn’t have asked for a better ending.
