American diner right at the heart of Dubai, we were super hungry and craved for something with generous portions and we got just that:
‘Zesty Nachos’: home made tortilla chips cooked fresh to order, topped with pepper jack queso, shredded cheddar cheese, seasoned nacho meat, pico de gallo and sour cream. Well, no complaints here at all, from the meat to the cheese and definitely the mandatory sour cream and garnishings this was drool worthy, loved having this crispy tortilla eat. Besides, it’s n a c h o s , so...let’s leave it at that.
‘Spicy Habanero Burger’: beef patty layered with cheddar cheese, jalapeños, creamy habanero sauce, thick cut bacon strips, tomato, red onions, lettuce and pickles all bundled on a brioche bun. Love when burgers have pickles and jalapeños it mellows away the spice levels whilst giving a sharp kick of flavours. The patty was perfectly cooked to our liking- juicy and moist, the creamy habanero sauce was deliciously made- complimented the entire eat so well. The only drawback we faced was how undercooked the bacon strips were(as you can), it was difficult to bite into due the strips being chewy and rubbery, unfortunately we had to leave it out- wish it was crisped to glory, would’ve made this burger superb all the way. As for the sides, you get to choose between onion rings, seasoned fries or wavy cut fries.
‘Chicken and Waffles’: golden waffles drizzled in caramel sauce, served alongside breaded chicken- topped with pepper jack queso and pico de galo with a bowl of Mac & Cheese. Starting off with their waffles it was deliciously made, ahhh the smell of waffles/pancakes always feels good, the slight touch of sweetness from the sauce was a delight, their breaded chicken was tender and had the right amount of seasonings- although wish they added more of the queso and PDG as it seemed quite less. The Mac & Cheese was a sloppy disappointment as it tasted bland and the pasta was tad bit over cooked. Apart from that, a hearty breakfast combo that we had for lunch instead with generous portions and moist poultry can be regarded as comfort food.
‘BBQ Bacon Burger’: thick beef patty layered with cheddar cheese, bacon, mushrooms, fire-roasted bell peppers and onions, BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, red onions, and pickles on a cheddar bun. Love the beef patty- juicy and cooked to my liking with moist flavours, seasoning was on point. The sauce complimented the entire burger so well with an added sweet-smokey tone, the roasted peppers was an added bonus, so yumm. This fast food bite was definitely mouthwatering, except for the way the bacon(once again) was cooked poorly as it was hard to chew on and I had to leave it out(once again), to me this was the only setback, with the bacon out of the burger it tasted better.
That wraps up our lunch visit at Denny’s. This was my second visit and I highly recommend trying out their sizzling skillets- they got lip smacking varieties to choose from, an all day breakie menu is what I love, pancakes to golden waffles and burgers and much more they have it all. Pleasant ambiance at this eatery with laid back decor, diner atmosphere and more importantly the place was super kempt. Great customer service skills with friendly staff, we had a relaxing experience here.
